Town votes day laborer center must check paperwork
Associated Press - August 15, 2007 10:35 PM ET
HERNDON, Va. (AP) - The town of Herndon's day laborer center now must check the paperwork of workers who congregate there.
After two days of hearing debate, the town council voted tonight that a new group must run the center. The current operator -- a nonprofit called Project Hope and Harmony -- says it's not their job to enforce immigration law.
Herndon's day laborer center was 1 of the region's first. It has sparked debate over illegal immigration and how to deal with workers who used to gather at a 7-11 parking lot, waiting to be hired for the day.
Some residents said they were pleased after the vote because services should not go to illegal immigrants.
Others -- including the site director -- are afraid the ruling means that workers will no longer participate in the program and go back to Herndon's streets and parking lots.

I think many other communities will adopt measures similar to this town in Herndon.
Well, duh! Why don't they just go back home?
Actually, what I read on the internet is really entertaining if not humorous thing is this:
The PREVIOUS lib town council and mayor, all of whom were booted out of office by massive anti-illegal alien public revolt, had the following scheme.
Step One: They REFUSED to pass or enforce local ordinances outlawing vagrancy, loitering and solicitation. In other words, they CREATED the problem.
Step Two: The problem festered so much, it brought the "need" for an officially sanction, taxpayer funded day labor center in that town. They said that if the day labor center would be approved, they would then get them off the streets, and agree to a deal, and pass meaningful regulations outlawing congregating of the "jornaleros".
Step Three: That is exactly what happened. The center went up, the illegals went over there instead, and they were then more or less off the streets or in front of the 7-Eleven, what with strong enforcement of new anti-loitering laws.
Step Four: The lib/socialists are then overwhelmingly kicked out of office. Loitering regs THEY passed are still on the books.
Step Five: New group of patriots in office, move to put the screws on the illegals, the day labor center, and the bleeding heart, look-the-other way NGO which runs it.
Bottom Line: The illegals cannot now easily take back to the streets (as one woman warns or threatens), because the strong laws from the previous lib council are still on the books--unlikely to be repealed--and they will be picked up there and deported as well.
Hardy har har........LOL
Let us hope so!
well --- D'OH!
It's not their job to service illegal criminal aliens, either.
They choose to do it!
That's like saying it wasn't Michael Vick's job to enforce cruelty to animal laws.
That and another group in there. And they damned well know it, and they know what they are doing. I would call for an audit of their arses if not an outright raid of the place, and shut it down under RICO and I.C.E. violations.
In that sense, I guess most folks are “documented” after all! /sarc
