A group from Mexico has won the Stockholm Junior Water Prize at World Water Week, which is being held here for the 17th year.
Adriana Alcántara Ruiz, Dalia Graciela Díaz Gómez and Carlos Hernández Mejía received the prize from Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria.
The Mexican team has found a way to absorb lead in industrial waste water with the help of eggshells.
¿”Mexican trio”?
At first, I was thinking ‘Los Panchos’, but I soon realized they must be far too old to enter a ‘junior’ contest.
I hope these young individuals will one day become even more admirable representatives of Mexican culture than they are today.
Perhaps they won’t become new Cheech Marins, but at least they might visit Stockholm again sometime in the future to receive their Nobel prizes.
Speaking of Cheech Marin;
