Several years ago I read about an armed robbery of a convienence store. Bad guy puts a 12 pack on the counter, pulls a gun and demands the money from the register, Clerk complies but tells him she has to see some ID for the beer, he whips out his drivers license and shows it to her, she memorizes the name and address.
Like I said, crooks are stupid.
