Female mice apparently become as randy as males after their senses of smell are tampered with, ending up aggressively trying to mount any mouse that moves, research now reveals.
These findings open the question as to whether circuits for male behavior exist in a dormant state in females, and vice versa, in other species including in humans.
In many animals, the vomeronasal organ often helps detect scents.
In mice, it especially helps detect pheromones, molecules used to attract the opposite sex and to communicate other signals linked with social behavior, such as parenting or aggression

This might explain that one girl I knew in college.
senses of smell are tampered with, ending up aggressively trying to mount any mouse
This is great news, now if they will find something to make other “organs” function with greater verossity????
Wait a minute now! How do you breed mice in a special way? Inquiring minds want to know.
“How do you breed mice in a special way?”
Trap position.
Very carefully.
Since humans don't have the vomeronasal organs (neither do higher primates)...probably doesn't explain it, LOL.
However, I'm amazed at this article because even though they state early on that humans don't have this same "organ"...they end the article with this.
These findings might open up new avenues for investigation into the brain origins of sex-specific human behavior.
Right now lots of guys are talking their wives/girlfriends out of boob jobs in favor of nose jobs.
“Right now lots of guys are talking their wives/girlfriends out of boob jobs in favor of nose jobs.”
How would one convince his wife if she has a perfectly good nose and boobs to get this nose job?
The females are trying to mount the males? They may have stumbled on to something entirely different than sex drive.
One, two, three, four!
Get up, (get on up)
Get up, (get on up)
Stay on the scene, (get on up),
like a sex machine, (get on up)
HEY!

Agressive like it on Top “SMice Girls”
In my mind, I’m seeing Minnie Mouse, singing, “I’m just a love machine, and I dont work for nobody but you....”
What an image for a Tuesday morning!!!
Ask the Mayor. I guess in his case his sense of smell is hyper.
I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. There was considerable research being conducted a few years back on the human vomeronasal organ.
Sorry, if they were as randy as males, if it didn't move, they'd shake it and "mount" it.
That Big Sh*tty pol is sniffing out the location of the “Bat faced Girl” and has an alley already in mind.
I just got my info from the article.
Hit it ‘n quit.
In humans the vomeronasal organ is probably less any discrete identifiable blob of tissue, like a liver or kidney, than a tract of organized neurons. Such pathways are a little harder to nail down anatomically and physiologically.
