Karl Rove Departure Timed To Distract From Karl Rove Departure
pointfiveblog ^ | 8/13/07

In a move hailed by Bush supporters as a master stroke of political “strategery” and assailed by critics as part of a consistent program of too- conveniently- timed distractions, Karl Rove has turned over the Washington apple cart by hiding news of his departure from the White House, with the stunning announcement of his departure from the White House.

“I question the timing,” said Harry Reid. “We’ve seen this time and again with this Administration, whether announcing dramatic so- called ‘terror’ arrests to deflect attention from the Ned Lamont primary victory, flying planes into the World Trade Center to distract from a draconian decision on stem cell lines, or steering hurricane Katrina directly into New Orleans to distract from whatever that was supposed to be distracting from, Rove is the dark master of this kind of political legerdemain.”

I question whether Rove took the Hurricane Steering Machine with him!

The Democrats are flummoxed. The master strategerist outsmarted them all. They are beside themselves!

Is it Darth Rove? Usually Sith lords have a different name than their real one... I’m way too tired to come up with one for Rove - anyone have an idea?*

“I question the timing,” said Harry Reid.

I regret that I will never have the opportunity to take his insect-like head between my thumb and forefinger and pinch it off.

Dim attacks on Rove on the very day he announces his departure reveals as always their total lack of grace, led by silky pony. They don’t know how to debate policy; they know only how to be snide.

Very true. remember all the big talk between the election and when they took over? The 100 days promise to fix Bush's mistakes? Watch us? It's a new game? No more business as usual?

What happened? Just what you said. All we have gotten from the Dems is third grade level finger pointing and blame.

That they have accomplished none of their objectives remains Bush's fault. For a guy with no power, President Bush still waves a big stick.

Stupid is as stupid does.
Corrupt is as corrupt does.
Elite is as elite does.

Having sampled 21st century Lefist-Progressive-Democrat legislative malfeasance, and seeing it displayed as birds in a cage in their race for the Dim presidential candidacy, will a majority of voters--bolstered by a solid block of the Conservative Remnant--realize they dare not continue to put power into the hands of such whack-jobs? We need to work hard to make sure that goal is attained!

The ingredients are even more ripe 15 months out from the 2008 election than we saw in 1972 with McGovernism. (Military conflicts help "out" dim wackiness.)

While it makes me fear for my child's future, there is a certain comfort I take with MarKOS Moulitsas' bum-rush claim to being mainstream.

It would be hilarious if Rove took up residency in the Lincoln bedroom for the remainder of Bush’s term. He could walk out to get the paper in his robe and wave at the press. “No questions please, I’m retired.”

“legerdemain”? Somebody taught him to say it just for the occasion - took him 20 minutes to learn it, and of course, he has now forgotten it. And he never knew what it meant anyway. Oh, well.

He didn’t have to take it with him; he built it and he’s the only one who knows how to use it. And he can build another one any time he wants to. We just have to see whose garage he builds it in - that will be the thing worth knowing!
