Funny how Dubya got re-elected after the Mission Accomplished sign, and a bunch of the other ‘errors’ this hack mentions, so he disproves his own thesis.

Do not question the Rove.

All of the Bush/Rove legacy can be summed up with this: Supreme Court 5-4 Conservative.

Yes, we can be grateful for that. Unfortunately, it is at best a temporary advantage and bulwark which will be soon swept away by the incoming demographic tsunami of cultural invasion which Bush and Rove have enabled and encouraged. In terms of permanence, demographics trumps even lifetime SCOTUS appointments.

He was a real good guy to have to run the show for the next election but areal bad guy to have around to look at things in the long run. We will be better off with out him and Bush. We need someone who has a l ong term view of things and works with the MSM to destroy it. One who does not bring 60 million Dem voting illegals in and then tries to make citizens out of them so we don lose a few votes in the short term in the next election. Instead we just lose allow allof the elections after 5 years and become a permanent minority. Real good Rove and Bush.

“What about being the architect of the Republican debacle of November ‘06???”

The reasons we lost (Foley, Allen, Abramoff) had nothing to do with Rove.

Unless, seriously, it was his responsibility to have a Republican internal audit group whose charter would be to PROACTIVELY avoid such debacles.

isn’t this interesting: in Hebrew, the word “Rove” means “majority”

Karl Rove was better at winning office than holding onto it.

Well, winning office was Rove's job, wasn't it?

He had a hand in political decisions, but I doubt he had anything to do with FEMA. How much of a say did he have in Iraq war policy?

We know Rove had something to do with immigration and social security, but was Bush Rove's creature or Rove Bush's?

I guess that's the problem with somebody like Rove: he does a few things well, and then gets blamed for everything else, because he's the "mastermind."

Definitely, Rove was a positive but I hated his “take-a-knee” approach to the end of campaigns, making the end result closer than it should have been. If the GOP had been more aggressive in the final weeks of the 2000 and 2004 campaigns, there would not have been any handwringing or talk of stolen elections.

My brother worked for the RNC for years, including during the 2000 election, and he says Rove is an idiot. He holds him personally responsible for, as he put it, "turning what should have been a cakewalk into a Bataan death march." He said they had Gore's negatives in the stratosphere just running ads that featured quotes from his own "Earth in the Balance" book, but then Rove came in with Bush's "New Tone" BS, took over the campaign and made them yank the ads. Within six weeks, Gore pulled even with Bush in the internal polls. Then Rove announced on the weekend before the election, "It's in the bag," encouraging Republican voters and even Bush himself to stay home and put their feet up while Gore continued barnstorming and the DUI dirty trick was sprung.

Rove has always seemed to me to be praised far, far beyond his worth. Liberals only think he's an evil genius for the same reason that a snail might think a dog was a genius.

You are absolutely right about the “cultural invasion” and it will no doubt be a terrible blight on this administration’s legacy. Still, though we did not get everything we wanted during the last 7 seven years and though we got a lot that we did not want, I seriously doubt either Gore or Kerry would have been any more willing to stop the invasion and I am certain we were spared far worse than we would have endured under either one of them.

Rove’s replacement should be Ann Coulter. Talk about driving liberals crazy. That would be the ultimate coup de gras.

Not a bad idea. The Pubbies that are dishonest do us great damage when magnified by the MSM.

I love Rove because he made the ‘democratics’ sputter, fume and foam at the mouth by the mere mention of his name. I wish him all the best in whatever is next for him.
