Breaking story
Nearly 6,000 people have now viewed it tonight in such a short period.
You posted, one sentence if I am not mistaken, and then left, apparantly not staying with your thread. No follow up post.
Please explain. Please expand.
he sure said “of course” a lot. As if you run into boxes emitting high levels of radiation every day.
WABC did not advertise this story with their tease. Nor are they reporting it now. WCBS and WNBC are delayed because of sports.
post 109
The reporter said that the box owner is in custody. That’s good. I though people were saying he escaped with the box.
Post 109 is the actual TV report link.
That’s up on youtube pretty darn quick.
Impressive.
Saw the UtubeFox5 report, still confused. High levels, normal levels? Hope more Huh? at 11.
Thank you!!!
Chertoff’s gut will soon announce there are no reasons to think this is in any way related to terrorism.
Thank you!!!
Wow, you are quick, thanks!
Confused me too, but that guy was so nervous...I don’t think he knew what he was saying.
Excellent link. The report was confusing. The reporter said the box in the back of a car was emitting radiation, but he seemed to say it was “normal”. I thought I mis-heard him but then the anchor ended the report by saying twice that the readings were “normal”.
A DC beat cop asked our group at our Walter Reed Support Our Troops Freep one night if any of us had gotten radiation treatment of some kind recently... I had - several months earlier - gotten a good dose of I-131 for my thyroid CA. I asked the cop what made him ask. He said “somebody” in our group had set off his radiation detector, which was attached to his belt and not much bigger than a pager or a cell phone.
I heard that too. I think we have a non-story here.
More than they want to let on. But I will say no more. Suffice it to say I trust the NYPD far more than I do the FBI. They really are on top of things, believe me.
Well, maybe there was radiation but it came from a normal source... fleeing may have had nothing to do with what was in the vehicle, and since it’s an early report, there may have been no fleeing. If nothing else, it might seem to indicate that they are still looking for something even though we heard that security was quickly lowered following the friday evening scare.
Thanks for the sanity check. This is serious business and just because the tri-state stepped up efforts to watch a little more closely, gives no reason for alarmists.
