DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - The wife of GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul had surgery this morning to install a pacemaker.
A statement from Paul's campaign says that the surgery on Carol Paul was a success and that she is expected to make a full recovery.
Carol Paul went into the hospital yesterday after suffering from an irregular heartbeat.

I know this will sound gross ... and indeed my prayers for Mrs. Paul ... but ...
two wives with medical creds?
Puh leeeze.

He should get out of the race and take care of things at home.

He should get out of the race and take care of things at home. Are you serious? The pacer fixes her problem. The operation itself is very easy and done while the patient is wide awake. I have one, went home the next morning and have never had a problem since. She will be fine now and no reason for him to "get out of the race".

He should get out of the race because he is a nut, the Dennis Kucinich of the isolationist Right, like Jim Leach was.
I met him when he came to Congress and got bad vibes back then. He sounded good on paper but as he began to speak out on issues, warning flags went sky-high.
Hope his wife is well.

I’ve met him too. Just curious, what set off your senses?

Hopefully this will take care of her problems and give her plenty of more years, with added quality of life to boot.

I don’t think Paul was knocking people over to get to a microphone to win sympathy , unlike Edwards .

Hopefully this will take care of her problems I hope so. She looks like a very nice woman. Paul doesn't use her as a prop.
