State Budget Plan Reflects Republican Party's Values (Suddenly Red Arnold Is A Republican Alert)
San Jose Mercury News ^ | 08/10/2007 | Arnold "Postpartisan" Schwarzenegger

Unfortunately, Senate Republicans, except for Sen. Maldonado, decided they would continue holding up the budget in an effort to address concerns they have with environmental regulations.

Let me be perfectly clear - it is unacceptable to hold up the budget, and negatively impact the entire state, over a non-budget issue.

Once the Republican senators achieved their promise to balance the budget, they should have joined Sen. Maldonado and passed it.

The budget is now six weeks late, leaving one of the world's largest economies without a spending plan. The ramifications are real and far-reaching.

This man, this champion of "postpartisan" politics, is now lecturing the CAGOP on the need to to show partisan loyalty. Oh the hypocrisy is rich - a RINO who presides over deficit spending wants the Assembly deficit budget passed. If that reflects the Republican Party's values, I'm in the wrong party. Oh yeah - during this budget standoff, the conservatives ARE back and have got you and the Democrats frustrated to no end. Sorry about that, Governator. Deal with it!

I don’t notice anything amiss... could it be that we could fold up government and never skip a beat?

(except that the city I live in has the cops out doing their “sobriety” checkpoint fundraisers now... and just at rush hour, too... which makes mucho sense... I mean just think of all those lushes driving home from a hard day’s drinking at the office!)

Most Californians know the entire budget "crisis" is phony. The government could be shut down for a year and no one would miss it. But the Left is panicking - because it NEEDS government to run people's lives.
