Meantime, the past seven months of Democratic rule have been anything but super-productive. Nor have they been united over the war on terrorism -- even on whether or not it should be called a war.
They certainly haven't improved the tone and temper of congressional deliberations. Civility is at its lowest ebb ever in both chambers. A partisan maneuver last week that smacked of dirty tricks cut short a House roll call on a Republican amendment that ended the voting before all votes were cast. GOP lawmakers stormed out of the chamber crying "shame, shame."
The Democrats' strong-arm tactics and political meanness raises further doubts about their performance thus far, posing this question for the voters in 2008: Can they govern?

Can they govern?
Short answer: No.
Longer answer: Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha! No.
Your link is wrong.
What really worries me is that some GOPers will stay home if Rudy gets the nomination. Essentially giving the election to Hillary or Hussein Obama.
Of course not; they’re Castro-wannabees for the most part.
Your linky is on the blinky. Subprime mortgages?
“Can They Govern?”
Well, no — but they can sure tax the crap out of you!
Democrats are better at bit*hing than they are at ruling. No doubt, if they win in 2008, people are going to get treated to communism. Truth is, thats who they are.
We are in a very precarious situation. Party has little to do with it. It is a wave of the future unless we are willing to fight it.
I have doubts about whether that is possible anymore.
I lived through 1964-1968 and 1974-1980. Despite what some in this forum may think, those times really sucked. Being thrashed in elections really isn't my idea of a good time.
To some Giuliani would be worse that Hillary or Obama.

“To some Giuliani would be worse that Hillary or Obama.”
While this is true, I only have one thought on it.
If Rudy wins the nomination, at least we have a shot at putting up some COnstructionist judges. We may not trust him, but at least there is a chance.
With Hillary, there is absolutely no chance we will get a Constructionist judge.
As we have seen on most social issues over the last two years, SCOTUS is looking at the Constitution more then European law.
You know, one would hope that all the fall out from the '06 stay at homers would send the message.
Hannity had someone, I think named Cunningham on his show this afternoon who ragged on Rudy but ultimately said winning is more important then finding the "perfect" candidate because there is no perfect candidate. He pointed out he had at least 8 points of agreement out of 10 with Rudy while only 5 or 6 with Hillary.
And whoever gets the GOP nod will be savaged by the media so it will be more important then ever to stick together.
Staying home and being disgruntled is the worst strategery for '08 and beyond.
Of course, if people really don't like Rudy, then they should work like heck to make sure their guy gets the nomination.
To ALL: I found the article on Realclearpolitics..here is the link: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2007/08/doubts_about_the_dems_can_they.html
I think He's at a point where he knows he needs to articulate better his thoughts, and if the press conference he held today? is any indication (More importantly, why don't you ring in all the pork spending instead of taxing to fix bridges ...) .... I think the Pubbies may become Republicans before long.
I'm excited.
Thanks. Links are tricky little beasts.
“A sweeping ethics- and lobby-reform bill also was sent to the president’s desk.”
Anything “sweeping” or “omnibus” probably has some bad things hidden in it.
Gee, that's a hard one...
Rats can’t govern anything, especially if it has to be based on our Constitution simply because the creative circle-jerk that has elected them want their incumbents to rewrite it and specifically craft it for their needs.
And being that neither party has a majority of members that hold to party principle, the free-for-all of party affiliation has diluted both of them into power hungry tax and spenders with no need or time to bother leading or governing.
Anything resembling a leadership role taken by any elected official anywhere within our borders (And even that is now up for debate) is immediately challenged by lone voice opposition and winds up being debated and finalized by our backup governors, The USSC.
So no, Rats can’t govern and neither can pubbies. They all take a pass and concentrate on the fun stuff incumbency offers,,,, tax redistribution.
