Ron Paul Quietly Converting GOP Believers

By John Fout TheStreet.com Political Correspondent 8/9/2007 12:20 PM EDT

Why haven't conservatives leaders embraced their own ideals and come out to support Ron Paul in public?

I pondered this issue in an article in June. I saw Paul as the one second-tier candidate who might have a chance of a breakout from the pack. It turns out I might have got it right. He has remained the most popular GOP candidate on the Internet. This genuine outpouring of support is rivaled only by that for Barack Obama.

70% of the nation agree with Paul on Iraq
As much as you hope and pray for that to be true --- you and your scumbag leftist friends on the Pelosi side of the aisle --- the fact is, support for the surge is beginning to surge, even from long-time critics of the war.

Our soldiers have to fight the enemy overseas, while the traitors at home try to stab their efforts in the back. It's really disgusting. Sickening and disgusting.

And the Paulistinian bunch of home-grown traitors have the gall to label themselves "the only true conservatives"...

True conservatives don't stab American soldiers in the back.

At the Republican Convention next year Ron Paul will get ZERO delegates.

It really is that simple.

Actually, no. The trend is reversing. As the successes of the surge are being known, Americans are supporting the war.

I know you anti-war liberals and Paulestinians are invested in America's defeat on the War on Terror and in Iraq, but it ain't over yet.

No, you are lying. I was just pointing out that there are still lots of unanswered questions about 9/11. Jamie Gorelick and Richard Ben Veniste 2 sleazy characters sort of like you sat on the 9/11 commission. If you have a problem with the fact that close to 200 Israeli citizens were arrested by our government and reported on by the mainstream media, then I suggest you take it up with the Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Brit Hume and Carl Cameron of Fox News. Then talk to the Israeli ambassador to the USA and ask why his citizens were rounded up by our government days after 9/11 2001.

Hey, don’t look at me, I actually already VOTED for the guy for President, back in the day. I do support just about everything he stands for, except for one thing, but that one thing is an absolute deal breaker. Heck, I will get slammed for this, but I prefer Rudy to this guy.

I support Ron Paul far more than most other Republican leaders, especially on fiscal policy. I don't agree with him on Iraq but I'd still pick him over Rudy or McCain.

Never understood why some of you guys get your panties in such a huge bunch over 1 libertarian Republican.

Oh and I dont give him any chance at winning the nomination.

You are so wrong. If we are still taking casualties in Nov 2008, Hillary will be President.

No, you are lying

Let's see if I am:

Then talk to the Israeli ambassador to the USA and ask why his citizens were rounded up by our government days after 9/11 2001.

Whoops. Turns out I was telling the truth.

Ron Pauls campaign is a joke. He has raised about three million and has spent very little. He has managed to create useful idiots who do not see him for the fake that he is by comparing his deeds with his words.

These same paulists will be recycled into bloomberg supporters. ronpaul’s campaign is just about splitting support from any viable candidate.

given the nutjob positions of ronpaul, he probably has more than a few wahabist donations.

I would have no problem with a "libertarian Republican" per se.

It's an anti-American Defeatist Republican I have a problem with. RP votes with the most far left whacko enemies of America in the House, on the subject of this war, at the same time that our soldiers and marines are over there defending his right to do so. It's sickening. Sickening and disgusting. And has absolutely nothing to do with "libertarian", everything to do stabbing our fighting men and women in the back in time of war.
