Honest question - does it bother you when Freepers display glee when a liberal person or group encounters the consequences of their actions?

LOL! Hell NO!

It's just that Freepers seem to forget that the recent national elections for President were awfully close...with Clinton winning with just 43% of the popular vote.

IOW, there's a lot of yellow-bellied liberals out there that ski!

Do you think so? I haven’t read any demographic studies in recent years, but I’ve always had the impression that the upper middle to upper class (outside of Hollywood types) trended Republican, primarily on the issues of taxes.

The Dixie Chick example, I think, might back that up a little. Their last album did sell around 2 million copies, but around 20 concert dates were canceled due to poor ticket sales. I use this to suggest that while a liberal will shell out $12 to support their favorite liberal rabble-rouser, they are much less likely to spend $45+ and a couple hours of their time.

I wonder if the same backlash would occur if the Breckenridge (Colorado) City Council passed a resolution proclaiming widespread support for President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
