Ron Paul Launches TV Ads
KWTX TV ^ | 08/07/07 | uknown

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul began running television campaign ads Tuesday in Iowa.

The spots for the Texas congressman began just days before a straw poll in the first presidential nominating state.

The 30-second ads will be in rotation in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Sioux City.

Campaign spokesman Jesse Benton declined to reveal the cost.

The ad features Paul speaking to a crowd of supporters while an announcer repeats the Texan's fiscally conservative campaign themes.

Various statements flash across the screen, including "Stop the national I.D. Card."

Benton said the ad, the first of two for TV, will be accompanied by similar radio spots.

Excellent ad. Short sweet and to the point. Unfortunately about everything in the ad ‘conservatives’ will have a problem with. Liberty?!? What’s this liberty thing....

It's been fun, slapping these Paul-hating misfits around. I have to go to work early tomorrow, so goodnight everyone.

Don’t you think that Ron Paul proposing that money be spent on the wild shrimp industry and not voting for it is devious?

"Insulting me on my part-time job."

Insulting you? You must be proud of it because you worship it with photos of yourself on your freeper profile. Those tights making you cranky?

Only if he led people to believe that he wasn't going to vote against it. Did he?

(Hint: The answer is no)

So why did he propose that congress spend funds on support of the Texas wild shrimp industry?

Shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sautee it. There's, um, shrimp kebabs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo, pan fried, deep fried, stir fried. There's pineapple shrimp and lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich... That's, that's about it.

Stop being a cranky old man. Perhaps you underestimate the breadth of science fiction and fantasy fandom, just as you underestimate Paul and his support.

Curious, does his ad mention he wants to abolish the Fed Reserve?

You say that as if it's a bad thing. Are you actually in favor of keeping the Federal Reserve? Geez, what the hell is a conservative anymore? Just somebody that hates gay people?

Why not have fun with my profile? Obviously I don’t mind people knowing what I do, or I wouldn’t have a public performance job.

BTW, I don’t wear tights, except sometimes to fight in (mostly when my bloomers are wrinkled). 90% of the day I’m in a court dress, and my ensemble weighs around 30 pounds.

Outdoors. In Texas. August through November. Entertaining diehard fans, families, casual passers-through, and drunks for 12 hours a day.

So tell me what a puss I am.

Show many any another candidate who is responsible for less pork -- and held the power of the purse.

Ditto what you said! Here in New Hampshire we have spent thousands of dollars on our own signs, stickers, shirts, and campaign literature. Our meetup.com calendars are littered with well-attended events. We bring people out all the time to sign waves, literature drops, political picnics, gun shops, and everywhere else. We won the first Straw Poll in NH with over 60% of the vote, and we OWNED THE DAY (Mitt Romney came in 4th place - http://www.cnht.org/). Our supporters are excited and motivated, and our campaign is spontaneous! The same thing is happening for the campaign all across the country and this is why the attacks and negativity are ratcheting up. Remember just 2 months ago? “Long shot”... “bottom tier”... “he has no chance”... “a bunch of spammers on the internet”... But when he was excluded at the recent private debate in Iowa and rented another part of the convention hall, Ron Paul supporters outnumbered all other supporters and packed the hall. We’ve won the 1st NH straw poll and will win more with clear majorities. Right now all eyes are on Iowa, I will withhold further commentary until Saturday night when the votes are counted.

When a constituent requests that Paul request an earmark, as a constituent service he always passes that request on to the appropriations committee. The committee decides whether or not to include that earmark in a bill. If that bill makes it out of committee, then the House votes on it. And Ron Paul votes no.
