Just... damn. I mean, you just can’t make this s%it up. They sued themselves, and won! Only in the liberal-land.

I’m gonna go stock up on ammo...

Thing is, they will continue to vote for Democrats. I have no sympathy for the stupid.

I bet the questioners never ask Hillary or Obama to weigh in on this court ruling...

The law approved by the voters was essentially a Prop 13 with a 1998 starting date. The voters approved it. The corrupt government overturned the voters.

Then the corrupt government needs purging by whatever means necessary. I wouldn't shed a tear if a few of these thugs were put to rest by a mob of disgruntled taxpayers.

Sooner or later the people will win.

Wish I could share your optimism. Moving out of Hawaii may be the only way the homeowners there can win. The courts don't seem inclined to let them win by reforming their government.

They love the Dems.

Seems to be one root of the problem.

we the people need to control the beast of government.

That's pretty much what the Founding Fathers thought. Folks today are more meek in the face of government oppression. Like we didn't inherit the Founding Fathers' genes.

They need to start replacing their local representatives. In my community, everytime a income tax is proposed, it goes down to defeat 3-1 and 3 council members are replaced in the same election. They’ve tried citizen groups and other tricks, but in the end it’s city council that places it on the ballot, and 3 members are up for reelection each time, so off they go. City council members are dumb as posts, because an income tax on the ballot is the kiss of political death around here.

Issues like this property tax are exactly the kind of wake-up call Dems need. An overwhelming majority voted to reign in property tax increases and their elected officials went to extreme measures to invalidate their votes.

Surely even Dems are smart enough to know when their dog has gone rabid and needs to be put down ?

What makes this case fascinating is that the liberal dimwit that came up with this voter-idea and pushed for property tax relief...knew that it would not pass the court-test...so this was an entire effort of wasted time. It stirred people up and then let them simmer there. Rather than fire current representatives who wouldn’t do their duty....you basically just got people upset and they forgot to blame the people they elect. The same issue occurs over and over in California. In most states....like Texas or Bama...we’d toss out the folks who can’t do their jobs and bring in new politicians.

Unbelievable. What are the chances of SCOTUS eventually ruling on this? Any plans for an immediate recall campaign for the A-holes involved?

It sounds from the article like a state-law issue. If that’s so, US Supreme Court wouldn’t get involved.
