We've talked to military personnel directly involved in the events that Scott Thomas Beauchamp described, and they corroborated his account as detailed in our statement. When we called Army spokesman Major Steven F. Lamb and asked about an anonymously sourced allegation that Beauchamp had recanted his articles in a sworn statement, he told us, "I have no knowledge of that." He added, "If someone is speaking anonymously [to The Weekly Standard], they are on their own." When we pressed Lamb for details on the Army investigation, he told us, "We don't go into the details of how we conduct our investigations."--The Editors

Standing by their BS still. LOL
That’s it?!
“Fake but Accurate”, the Sequel.

Fake, but true, don’t ‘cha know.
The MSM are suckers for any story that fits their pre-conceived notions of the world: Duke rape case, innocent arabs, criminal US soliders, etc.
Very easy to fool them.
I just have to remember if I ever commit a crime, I did so because I was gay -— brutally supressed by my increasingly orthodox Jewish, militaristic father -— which drove me to my crimes by the intolerance.
I’d vote to acquit after hearing that sad story!

"We asked Major Lamb what forms of torture the people's hero Scott Thomas was subjected to in order to make him even consider recanting his story and the fascist liar Major Lamb told us that he wouldn't even dignify that with an answer which is, of course, a typical Neocon practice used to cover up the crimes of George W. Bush"
Who did . . . Mrs. Beauchamp?
So, the Weekly Standard is lying about the recanting, or is TNR going to let Beauchamp take them down with him? I think TNR should cut their losses now, before it gets worse.
Ha! Me too, and there's not even a glove in this case. :)
ROFL!
I think it just did get worse. It appears that TNR is going to attempt to counter an official investigation and a signed statement with hearsay from unnamed sourced they asked after the fact. Great journalism, that.
Argh. “Sourced” = “sources.” Sorry.
TNR is pulling a Truthout....sticking with their story regardless...
I think Beauchamp is a lying bastard.
That so, TNR is providing a name (Maj Lamb) to back up their claims.
The Weekly Standard (or Flopping Aces) needs to provide something more than a source close to the investigation if they really want to nail TNR.
The MSM’s overuse of “unnamed sources” “administration official”, etc. is something that is often complained about by FReepers.

Priceless! The truth is the Major will not talk until this wannabe Gonzo Journalist is safely in Leavenworth or dishonorably on the street to practice his mendacious craft alone.
True, and although the good Major won't speak about any recantation (and might be a little miffed that he has an apparent leak in his department) the WS article does quote him as going on record with:
"An investigation has been completed and the allegations made by PVT Beauchamp were found to be false. His platoon and company were interviewed and no one could substantiate the claims."
But of course that won't find its way into the TNR editors statement.
