A Detroit-area newspaper says the results of Tuesday's primary could lead to Hamtramck, Michigan, becoming the first city council in the U.S. to be controlled by Muslims.
The Detroit News says there are four Muslims in the Tuesday primary. If they are among the candidates who win and go on to run in the November election, they would have a chance to join a fifth Muslim who already sits on the six-member council and is up for re-election in 2009.
Hamtramck -- historically a refuge for Catholic immigrants mostly from Poland and Ukraine -- was at the center of a controversy three years ago over an initiative allowing amplified calls to prayer from the city's mosques.

Are you in NC then? Perhaps look into upstate SC (Greenville-Spartanburg), not that far a move if you had to, and the area here is booming, lots of big companies, michelin, honeywell, BMW, etc etc.

I like your optimism. You’re right about the history of the area. A snapshot of 1 individual from the greatest anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-individual, anti-life collective in the history of civilization would be a small sample. Nonetheless collectives are made up of individuals and each individual should be examined, their words and their deeds and if you get to know them, their philosophy.

I always like to make sure that there is a clear distinction between an Islamist and a Muslim.
