Giuliani went to his daughters graduation, and left without speaking to her and did not join in the family celebration, according to news reports.
Rudi did not attend b/c he surely was not invited to the family gathering. Giuliani's separation and divorce from the mother of his children was acrimonious and viscious due to still-married Rudi's parading his mistress (now his third wife) around NYC, and his very public attempt to dump his wife and children out on the streets in order to move Judi into the Mayoral mansion.

Sounds like his daughter is more conservative than he is.

Completely apart from political viewpoints and family strain, no sane young adult would want one of their parents to become President. Having Secret Service officers hovering over you 24/7 is not most college students’ idea of a good time.

At least he showed up at his daughter’s graduation. He didn’t even show up at his son’s graduation. Class act that Rudy.

Of course, Donna Hanover had no problem being "paraded around NYC" by Giuliani when she was his mistress while he was married to his first wife.
The young lady is understandably angry at her father for his caddish behavior - exploiting her anger for headlines doesn't do her any favors.

Donna Hanover was a loathsome woman who embarrassed Rudy often during his tenure as mayor. I don’t blame him one bit for dumping her - I would have done the same.
For many on FR, it seems sticking by a loathsome spouse is a virtue. If that’s not mental illness, I don’t know what is.

Check out the detail on her Face book site...
She’s interested in guys for “random play” etc., which according to my gilfriend means she’s “EASY” in the biblical sense.
Jeeeeeez...she takes after both her parents.

In defense of Rudy, I think that his second-wife and the mother of his children was a poor role model as far as political wives go. It was all-about-her in any interview she had while he was mayor. Her job, her maiden name, her needs, etc., etc., etc. She competed with him for the limelight rather than supported him and that behavior ultimately became a distraction in his job and undermined their marriage. During his inauguration his son stood in front of the podium and aped his father's speech while the mother stood there and laughed. The kid appeared severely ADD and probably should not have been at the event to begin with or in the hand-held companionship of another family member. This was a poor reflection on her "performance" as a mom. Her need for attention was accentuated during her acting stint in the Vagina Monologues. Given what I saw of her on tv, I can imagine that telling her he was leaving her on tv was the only way to get the message across. The fact that the kids don't want anything to do with him is totally understandable given the actions of both parents and the hatred that the mother probably feels. But was it love with her or just her ego? Was she really willing to sacrifice anything for him or was his career a Clintonesque career booster for her?
I don't respect that he left her for another woman--and afterall, did he leave wife #1 for witch #2? But in comparison with the Clinton's, everything becomes relative and his marriage to wife #3 can't be any more of a sham than Billary.

Whether the parent's bad or good, there something malicious about a kid who loudly announces voting for someone other than his/her parents.
Go ahead and quietly vote however...but don’t uninate on dad in public.

Rudy is a terrible father, husband, and family man. It is no secret. He makes Bill Clinton look like a good husband. I wouldn’t vote for him either if I was his kid.
To: Liz
Rudy really ought not be our candidate.
If Obama wasn't threatening to invade Pakistan while sucking up to Hugo Chavez, I might even vote for him over Rudy.
