Trutheriness and Ron Paul (Michelle Malkin) [Ron Paul Says The Darnedest Things!]
Michelle Malkin ^ | May 19, 2007 | Michelle Malkin

CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . I’m tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?

HON. DR. RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we don’t have that in place. IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER NOW WITH THE DEMOCRATS NOW IN CHARGE OF OVERSIGHT. But you know, for top level policy there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isn’t going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.

whatever .... but it wasn’t a reference to our common religion so much as to as our ability to believe the ‘unbelievable’ ... by no rational, objective means alone can a person believe in the Ressurection .. it is only by the Grace of and faith in God. If one is going to be strictly objective, the 19 fanatical, boxcutter packin’ Muslims scenario is more ‘believable.’

As much as it makes my stomach flip to say it, Petronski’s cretinous decerebrate incessant posting of Wylers kool aid MAY not be a reference to Jim Jones.

“Drinking the kool aid” certainly had its origins in Guyana, but the phrase has become so inured in our vocab to anyone who performs a mindless act of devotion that I am not sure you can peg him with drawing a parallel to the Jonestown stuff.

God but that felt awful, coming to his defense like that!

I’ve really not offered a theory about what happened on 9/11. I have asked questions, I have doubts about what we have been told, and I have a brother and five cousins serving in Afghanistan and Iraq because of all of this. The official story doesn’t add up, and it never will until there is an independent investigation. And probably not even then.

You may disagree with my all you wish. You don’t answer to me, now do you? God, on the other hand, is another issue entirely.

Absolutely not. There is multiple attestation by Mary Magdalene, apostles, disciples, and many, many more to whom Our Lord appeared before His Ascension. The same cannot be said of the 9/11 Commission report's official story.

What is a ‘Truther’ ?

Someone who believes that the "truth" about 9/11 is that it was an inside job. The internet is crawling with them.

That is the normal definition. When you get to a Ron Paul thread, the definition morphs into anyone who still has questions about the events that day and dares to say so.

"See, I still don’t get that. That was the rational for voting for Bush in 2000."

I understand your point in hindsight, but I can't get my head around where we would be 7 years into an algore administration...

"Don’t get me wrong, I’m not willing to dismiss him at all, but I still need to hear what he has to say on the trail, in debates before I can make a judgement."

We will have that chance very soon...

Again though, I do think I have a pretty good idea where clinton would take us...

Perhaps among those not alive at the time of Jonestown, what you say is true. From my perspective it is impossible not to hear or see one without the original connection to the mass-suicide of Jones’s followers.

OK -— let’s break down your initial statement because I’m trying to understand what, exactly, you’re doubting. Do you believe that Muslim terrorists, armed with box cutters, (whether or not there were other weapons is a fair question, but the reports from the passengers say box cutters) hijacked 4 planes and flew 3 of them into buildings?

On that point we are in agreement: we each must answer to God.

On the one hand, you are hyper-critical of Ron Paul

Hyper-critical because I don't like his truther connections? It's a deal breaker for me. I'm sure you have the same with other candidates. The sad thing is that we probably aren't that far apart politically, but you seem to see me as the enemy because I won't support Ron Paul.

As far as the "sheep" thing? That was sarcasm, sorry if that didn't come through in the message.

This is pointless...I think I've pointed out his duplicity very well, but you don't agree. I've conceded points to you, but you don't seem to be willing to do the same regarding my arguments. Just because I don't support Dr. Paul does not make me a hypocrite regarding big government. I guess that I just don't see him as the savior of freedom that you do.

by no rational, objective means alone can a person believe in the Ressurection

There is no such thing as a word view which is based on "rational objective means alone" The great hat trick of modern empiricism is to tart up objectivism and call it "science" while all the dullards in the audience do wolf whistles.

The people bellowing the loudest for rational objective "proofs" (or evidences) are usually clueless to the fact that they are only repeating unprovable faith axioms. The whole gig is faith. It is just WHERE your faith rests.

I didn’t accuse you of “saying” anything. I answered CTC flippantly based on the polite, reasoned discourse non-Paulites have lobbed my way over the past couple weeks.

Copied you in because you were responding to a misquotation of my previous comment.

“There is multiple attestation by Mary Magdalene, apostles, disciples, and many, many more to whom Our Lord appeared before His Ascension. The same cannot be said of the 9/11 Commission report’s official story.” LOL! Yeah — the attestation written decades later based on second-hand accounts is faaaaaaaaaaar more accurate than the first-hand accounts, some of them recorded, reported via phones by victims like Barbara Olsen. Are you for real, or are you a shill put here to make aPaulogists look even nuttier?

Thanks . I have questions about it . So do some of the family’s of 911 .But that doesn’t mean I am not a conservative , I don’t think they get much more conservative than I am .

We were warned by our founders to keep a watch on our leaders . Power corrupts and absolute power [like we seem have now ] corrupts absolutely .

What is a ‘Truther’ ?

A 9-11 conspiracy theorist - they fervently believe they are getting to the "truth", hence the term Truther.

Truthers come in all political shades. Conspiracies hold a fascination for a particular type of person. I don't know what the common denominator is, but I have seen conspiracy buffs from every conceivable political background.
