Trutheriness and Ron Paul (Michelle Malkin) [Ron Paul Says The Darnedest Things!]
Michelle Malkin ^ | May 19, 2007 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 08/05/2007 5:34:39 PM PDT by Lovebloggers

CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . I’m tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?

HON. DR. RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we don’t have that in place. IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER NOW WITH THE DEMOCRATS NOW IN CHARGE OF OVERSIGHT. But you know, for top level policy there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isn’t going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.

Personally, I don't think the Dems could find their own arses with a flashlight, both hands, and a road map.

But the glee with which Freepers slander one of the staunchest elected defenders of the US Constitution is disgusting.

Been going on since I joined up. A perennial fight between the supporters of a return to a real Constitutional Republic and those who just want "more power" for "their" side... and damn the consequences.

Geez, the next thing you’re going to do is try to claim that FDR looked the other way while Japs were headed to Pearl Harbor so that he could generate public support, which except among globalists, was completely nonexistent, for getting the U.S. into WWII.

Oh, and don’t forget- the CIA (or maybe those devils from Delta Force) ALSO made the tape of bin Laden AFTER 9/11 discussing how well his plan worked- even beyond his hopes.

You do remember that tape, don’t you?

I don't disagree. I also think they don't want to find out what an investigation would bring up. I'm not sure enough Republicans care enough or have the cajones to investigate.

A perennial fight between the supporters...

It's like watching a train wreck. I want to walk away forever, but I keep coming back.

Are you kidding me?

You believe in some damned conspiracy that allowed this all to happen?

For what purpose? To get into a shooting war with terrorists that would sink President Bush's ratings down?

My God do you know anything about this President? The last damned thing this sitting President would want to do would be to have to send men and women into battle!

Do you really think something else here was planned?!

Are you that thick?!

We all saw what happened on September 11th. How can you look at all that we saw and completely dismiss the most recorded event in modern history?

I am sorry... but I am losing patience with people who do not understand that we are up against an enemy that wants to kill you and me. How in the hell do you not see that?

OK, let’s carry your conspiracy theory a step further. The flight that went down in the field in PA. What would you be willing to stipulate? Perhaps as many as 500 friends and family members of the passengers on board that are missing a loved one? And what would you say happened to these people? The government executed them? They’re being held in a government prison? And how many people do you think would have to keep this secret?

Considering any honest investigation would nail more of their own operatives than the feckless GOPs cannon fodder, your assessment is probably correct.

I want to walk away forever, but I keep coming back.

I like it here. Even with the "bigger government is ok as long as our guys are the ones screwing us" trolls.

Heh, these Paulestinian threads are always such a laff riot! Count me as one FReeper who supports a homeland for the Paulestinians - far, far away from FR.

Because it is simply unbelievable that all of the intelligence gathering agencies of the United States of America were not doing their jobs.

Why? coordinating it required a little planning, but nothing that would ring any alarm bells. Unless Osama advertised "jihadists capable of flying jetliner for one mission only required - (oh. and Death to America)"

And those who wish for power for “their” side will take the same ride as the rest of us, eventually.

They just can’t see it.

Then again, neither could the population of a certain large european nation, circa 1930.

But the glee with which Freepers slander one of the staunchest elected defenders of the US Constitution is disgusting.

It's very discouraging.

But I can understand the disagreement FReepers have with Paul (even though they should disagree with him like an adult without spewing venom at him). He wants an immediate pullout from Iraq. That simply isn't feasible and I've always said this is one of two positions I disagree with Paul on (that & returning to the gold standard). Paul also should have at least voted for the funding for our troops after they were in Iraq.

But I certainly understand where Paul is coming from on Iraq. Folks, I'm telling you, you can demonize & ridicule Paul all you want, but there are folks out there who angry that the war wasn't fought as it should have. You trash Paul, you are trashing a large segment of swing and cross-section voters who are only tuned in because of Paul. These people are voting for the very first time, or they have voted 3rd party in the past elections.

I don't agree with Paul on the immediate withdrawal part of Iraq, but I'm not going to call him a kook or a wingnut though. You'll notice that nobody in the GOP establishment will call Rudy a pro-abortion lover or gun-control. Total hypocrisy here.

Who else in the GOP field can a non-evangelical fiscal conservative vote for. He’s Barry Goldwater part 2.

“You’ll notice that nobody in the GOP establishment will call Rudy a pro-abortion lover or gun-control. Total hypocrisy here.”

The fact that a pro gun-grabbing abortionist can even gain this much traction in the gop shows how far it has truly slipped off of it’s foundations. It appears big gov lovers and authoritarians have taken over.
Madness.

Debunked already. When asked point-blank about any association with or belief in Trutherism, Ron Paul responded: "Absolutely not!".
