It's very discouraging.
But I can understand the disagreement FReepers have with Paul (even though they should disagree with him like an adult without spewing venom at him). He wants an immediate pullout from Iraq. That simply isn't feasible and I've always said this is one of two positions I disagree with Paul on (that & returning to the gold standard). Paul also should have at least voted for the funding for our troops after they were in Iraq.
But I certainly understand where Paul is coming from on Iraq. Folks, I'm telling you, you can demonize & ridicule Paul all you want, but there are folks out there who angry that the war wasn't fought as it should have. You trash Paul, you are trashing a large segment of swing and cross-section voters who are only tuned in because of Paul. These people are voting for the very first time, or they have voted 3rd party in the past elections.
I don't agree with Paul on the immediate withdrawal part of Iraq, but I'm not going to call him a kook or a wingnut though. You'll notice that nobody in the GOP establishment will call Rudy a pro-abortion lover or gun-control. Total hypocrisy here.

The fact that a pro gun-grabbing abortionist can even gain this much traction in the gop shows how far it has truly slipped off of it’s foundations. It appears big gov lovers and authoritarians have taken over.
Madness.
