That would have been cause for national rioting and looting in the streets.
I do not see where Black women have any other choice if they want a college educated husband. Too many Black males are incarcerated and lack an education to meet the needs of educated and professional Black women looking for a spouse. And, like the article says, many that do want white women as trophies. They used to have to rely on fat, trailer park chicks but times have changed.
The other day I was at a bar in Dallas when a black girl from Minnesota started talking to me. We were laughing and joking around when a black guy asked me "So what? You into that or something?"
I asked him "Into what?">He responded "You into black girls?"
I said "I'm into pretty girls."
We get mixed reactions from blacks and whites when we're out together, more negative from blacks I'm afraid, not to perpetuate the stereotype.
She referred to a string of successful athletes with white partners, including golfer Tiger Woods.
Perhaps a disgruntled gold digger?

I live in a area with a large military population. I see mixed race couples all the time at the commissary. Perhaps it’s more common in the military than the general public?
Around the Fayetteville/Ft Bragg area I’m starting to see more and more young black females out with young white males. All with the military look.
About three four years ago it was rare and required a second look. Now it’s just “Nice looking couple.”
I can't believe black women would think that lowly of themselves. No wonder they don't like seeing black women with white women. This article has given me more understanding of that situation.

Before I retired in 91 I knew 2 couples, Black Wife, White Husband. One was a Sgt Major, both couples great people. They did turn a few heads from time to time, but I think it was more because of the sheer beauty of the 2 women.
They were drop dead gorgeous.
Rarely see a black woman with a white man.
As the article reads the real status is a black man who has a white women.
