T'wit, FReeper extraordinaire, has died.
self | August 5, 2007 | 8mmMauser

Posted on 08/05/2007 3:55:55 AM PDT by 8mmMauser

A great FReeper and close friend passed. T’wit, also known as Timothy Wheeler passed on. In tribute, I would like to make this the August thread of Terri Dailies, the topic foremost in T’wit thoughts.

Tim was a man of great faith, a faith that grew stronger especially in recent months. As I type this, I still am not yet coherent, as I try to awaken and sip a good coffee brought to me recently by Tim. In his usual fashion, he probably figured I would appreciate a little care package and would appreciate the better quality than the usual fare we would fix.

But I do not want this thread to be maudlin, nor a reminiscing on anecdotes, rather a stab at what Tim would want.

T’wit was passionate about the beauty of nature, of good books, good music, and intellectual challenge, but mostly he was passionate about his love for our America, for Jim Robinson’s FreeRepublic, and for our fight for those in the plight of Terri Schiavo. For the latter, he sought justice and fervently hoped and prayed we on Terri’s List would carry on this battle against the evils of those who would control who lived and died.

In our many talks, he would sound like a poster boy for all the stated position of Jim Robinson.

His wife told me last evening the final thoughts he had. As can be expected, it was for us to continue our fight as we have done already. She hoped that rather than flowers or donations sent, that donations be directed at causes like that supporting Terri’s Legacy, the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation. In this way, we remember him and further his wishes. T’wit and I talked a lot about faith and I can reassure all, his faith in Our Lord was strong and growing stronger, a comfort to me that he carried it to the end.

My words come out with difficulty this morning, but should flow better later, although without the word play and banter we would sometimes engage, at least for now. T’wit would be upset if I quit the puns for long, though.

We will continue our prayers for T'wit and his wife and family.

Wagglebee thread on good winning out over evil...

NASHVILLE, August 9, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - During the massive prayer rally of 07.07.07 that drew an estimated 100,000 primarily young people to Nashville this July, a former abortionist begged God for mercy and joined crowds in praying for a definitive end to the national crime of abortion.

During "The Call" rally, former Planned Parenthood abortionist Dr. Patti Gibbink stood up and testified, confessing her sins and begging God to end abortion. She told the crowds, "Ten years ago, I did abortions for Planned Parenthood." Here she paused, overwhelmed with tears.

Abortionist: "God I repent…End Abortion and Bring Revival to America. It's Time."

Many do not want to be confronted with the reality of their thoughts and deeds.

CALGARY, August 9, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In contrast with the media blackout that pro-life Canadians are used to expecting at their demonstrations, media coverage of the Reproductive Choice Campaign trucks rolling on Calgary streets this week has been lively. The trucks feature three-metre high photos of aborted children and an email address for more information.

Dr. Seuss tells it in this thread by wagglebee;

In the storybook version of "Horton Hears a Who," famous children's author Dr. Seuss tells the story of a community of microscopic people called "Who's" who live in "Who-ville". The world is a tiny, yet technologically advanced community of people living on a dust-speck. The jungle elephant Horton has excellent hearing that alerts him to the presence of the people, and he promises to protect them from danger.

None of the other jungle animals believe that Horton is protecting real people, however, because they can't see or hear them. Horton nevertheless risks his life to guard the dust speck, and repeats the phrase that has since become well known: "A person's a person no matter how small."

No surprise in this household...

WASHINGTON, August 10, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A book published in June by a leading US economist in part responds to previous and oft-quoted claims that abortion has been a significant factor in lowering the U.S. crime rate. The book by John R. Lott of the American Enterprise Institute, "Freedomnomics," answers claims by liberal economist Steven Levitt that abortion, in reducing the number of "unwanted" children, has eliminated significant numbers of the kind of people who commit crimes.

Lott's 2001 study, "Abortion and Crime: Unwanted Children and Out-of-Wedlock Births" concluded that legalized abortion has in fact increased the overall violent crime rate.

Adult stem cells did it.

HOUSTON, August 10, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - An Alabama woman was successfully cured during a groundbreaking study in which adult stem cells were used to regenerate her failing heart, CitizenLink reports.

Carron Morrow, a 58-year mother of two, was on a heart-transplant waiting list after she suffered a massive heart attack last year while hanging up lanterns for an outdoor event. She discovered afterwards that her heart was functioning at less than fifty percent of its normal level. Morrow was devastated by the worsening condition that made it impossible for her to walk without support.........................

Mr. Devlin having esophageal cancer probably cannot speak. This seems imo to be one way of using their inability to communicate against the patient. And, as World Net Daily pointed out, a living will can kill you prematurely or there's another scenario - said document is fraudulently voided by committee or a spouse who is opposed to natural death. Shame!

I was by the deathhaus the other day. I drove through the parking lot and then back out. I prayed for the woman who will spend her last days in there. I just did a drive by prayer since I am no friend of hospice sarcophagus (looks like a big tomb). 6670 102nd Ave. N. Pinellas Park, FL. Where TERRI WAS MURDERED.

If the child dies, is the mom charged with murder or is she going to get rehabilitation and an ankle bracelet? There are too many criminal, abusive people running around out there and law enforcement is enabling them.

We remember Jimmy Chambers, a tourist in Florida who ended up in a Florida hospital, was shipped to a hospice and shortly thereafter, expired. His daughter was his champion but unfortunately, in Florida the culture of death is written into Florida's laws (thanks, Jeb Bush and Senator Jim King).

Florida's culture of death is killing tourism, IMO. Revenue is down. They are panicking.

It is nothing like Terri's horror and terror when she found out her feeding tube was coming out.

REPUBLICANS VOTED AGAINST TERRI. Reap what you sow, republicans. Judge Greer is a republican too but he didn't kill Terri by himself, oh, no.

(I know t'wit would expect me to continue putting the above link on Free Republic).

This is not Pepsi v. Coke. It is are you pro-life or for a culture of death? In Florida, politicos are paying now for becoming allies with the death cultists.

Terri's last communication: A & E special: Notorious Terri Schiavo (I have the DVD).

"No more Bushes in politics, please. They just aren’t strong enough fighters of the good fight, I’m sad to say."

The only time they fight is for big donors or the Texas tagalongs like Alberto Gonzalez. And, another thing, if anybody selects CHARLIE CRIST FOR VP CHOICE, stay home. Seriesly.

Bushes also fight for amnesty for anyone who invades this country. Their love of illegal aliens, especially Mexicans, borders on the bizarre.

Crist is creepy, the type to join a death cult. I am concerned because I have relatives and friends living in Florida.

“It may seem inherently wrong for parents to hold sway over their children’s lives after they have routinely imperiled them. But officials often struggle to strike a balance between honoring the bonds of family and ensuring a child’s protection.”

My goodness. Can’t they have the NEXT closest family member make decisions, at least?

THANKS for Post #197. It sounds like so much fun. I wish I could have been there. I would have visited ALMOST all of the tents.

imo, Sam Brownback and Duncan Hunter have the highest commitment of all the presidential candidates to the life issue, from birth to natural death. Among other reasons, they were the only candidates to show up at the pro-life march in D.C.

“I am concerned because I have relatives and friends living in Florida.”

You have good reason to be concerned.

If after my husband retires, we decide to live in a warmer climate, it WILL NOT be Florida. There are many SAFER states to live in that have warm climates.

We remember Haleigh Poutre and keep a vigilant eye on her status as best we can from news reports. Now we have Hailey Gonzalez falling into a similar snare. I reported on it in an earlier post. This time the smear brush sideswipes NYC mayor Bloomberg.

But bear in mind from my earlier post, this "mom" retains the right to pull the plug and snuff poor Hailey.

"Only a parent or guardian can consent to a 'do not resuscitate' order," said Sheila Stainback, a spokeswoman for the city Administration for Children's Services. "These parents' rights have not been terminated."

August 11, 2007 -- Mayor Bloomberg gave a glowing vote of confidence yesterday to his embattled child-welfare chief, just a day after a scathing report said the Administration for Children's Services under John Mattingly's stewardship was rife with lying, incompetence and bungling.

"I think John Mattingly is as good a guy as you're ever going to get to head an agency like this," Bloomberg said on his weekly radio show.

Giving caseworkers access to criminal records "would not substitute for good casework," Silver's spokesman said yesterday, noting that protocols exist "for caseworkers and police to work together." Last year, the Police Department set up a hot line to handle ACS requests for law-enforcement help.

Meanwhile, 19-month-old Hailey Gonzalez, the latest child to fall through the ACS cracks, remained on life support.

Hailey, whose mother missed an ACS appointment last month, received a vicious beating, allegedly at the hands of her mom, Marlene Medina, and her mom's boyfriend, Edwin Garcia.

Law-enforcement sources said the mom was cold and callous when she was arrested and whined that she didn't want to go to jail because "I'm going to lose my apartment [and] all my stuff is in my apartment."

From the Iowa Straw Polls...

Hundreds took refuge from the heat under Brownback's vast, dimly lit tent -- which had air conditioning -- to hear the senator and an array of conservative speakers, including Bobby Schindler, brother of Terri Schiavo, the Florida woman whose end-of-life case became a political showdown.

Around the tents, vendors hawked T-shirts and political children's books; advocacy groups including the National Rifle Association and the Iowa Right to Life Committee passed out literature; one group, mypoliticalpets.com, invited voters to register their pets to "vote" on its website.
