Neckline headlines Clinton adviser in a snit
Waterbury Republican-American ^ | August 2, 2007 | Editorial

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is angry with The Washington Post for reporting on her cleavage after she wore a black top with a low neckline on the Senate floor. But always the opportunist, she is using the story to try to boost her presidential campaign.

A fundraising e-mail from campaign adviser Ann Lewis urges potential donors to "take a stand against this kind of coarseness and pettiness in American culture." Focusing on women's bodies instead of their minds is "insulting. ... It's insulting to our daughters ” and our sons ” who are constantly pressured by the media to grow up too fast."

That's rich. This is the same Ann Lewis who as White House communications director helped craft the "nuts-and-sluts" strategy Bill Clinton used against women who said he had groped or raped them, according to The New York Times. And this is the same Ann Lewis who complained bitterly that when Anita Hill lodged false sexual-harassment charges against then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, "she found herself savagely attacked; her integrity, morality, sanity called into question ... . This sends the message that if you step forward, especially against someone who holds power, you will be victimized again by his friends and allies."

Ann Lewis is the next-to-the-last person who should gripe about cultural coarseness and children being pressured to grow up too fast. After all, didn't she help her old boss try to convince a whole generation of young people that oral sex isn't sex?

(sitting on the subway)

Hillary: I’m not ashamed of my body.

Jerry Seinfeld: That’s your problem, you should be.

I think the story was given to the WaPo PRECISELY to generate ‘outrage’ by the supporters of Hillary Clinton. They certainly didn’t seem to have a problem with them trying to trash Jeri Thompson as a ‘trophy wife’. I guess that’s what gave them the idea to create a story about Her Heinous.

If Hillary, and professional women in general, want to be taken seriously, they will dress modestly. If you don't want someone to look, then don't show it off.

It isn’t often one sees a picture with an odd number of boobs in it. ;)

Tell that to Democrat Barack Hussein Obama who thinks sex education in kindergarten is a good idea.

Odd? I only see two: him and her.

Yeah, well, my wife can grouse as much as she wants, when the curtains are closed, I’ll wear what I like. I don’t look in the mirror when I’m not clothed so it doesn’t bother me.

Hillary would go braless in a tank top if it would guarantee her the WH. Ouch, gotta wash that image from my brain.

“Focusing on women’s bodies instead of their minds”

I’m confused. Wasn’t that what Hillary was trying to get us to do by wearing something low cut?
