O'Reilly jumps the shark
The O'Reilly Factor ^

On tonight's O'Reilly Factor, Bill used the Souther Poverty Law Center as an authority on "hate groups". This is the same organization run by notorious race hustler Morris Dees, a man local Montgomery Alabama area black residents accuse of being a con man that takes their money, yet does little (including hiring black attorneys for the SPLC). There are several references online to Dees con-artistry. Everyone from National Review to The Nation has called Dees out, yet O'Reilly has given him credibility. The SPLC has tarred a large number of groups with the "hate" label that are nothing of the kind, including the United Daughters of the Confederacy (which does heinous things like place flowers at confederate graves).
Discover The Networks has an excellent summary of Dees and the SPLC, with great quotes that reach across the ideological spectrum. Even the uber-left leaning The Nation magazine has a wicked writeup called The Church of Morris Dees.
Congratulations, Bill...you've now officially jumped the shark.

Yea, I caught that reference too. Disappointing to say the least.

Yep, but that is the inevitable fate of all populists.

O’Reilly has some good points to make on occasion but the man is out of control.

Ag9in? What is this number 12?

O’Reilly also used the movie “Mississippi Burning” to “illustrate” political hate. “Mississippi Burning” is very loosely based on real events. It depicts FBI agents giving into their own moral outrage and disregarding federal law and procedures to seek justice. It depicts some actual hate crimes that occurred over a wide region all happening in one little town in 1964. O’Reilly could have used actual newsreel footage of Ku Klux Klan or Dixiecrat hate speeches. But he is not a journalist, he is an electronic freak show barker.

Congratulations, Bill...you've now officially jumped the shark. Which is pretty convenient, because it's Shark Week on the Discovery channel!

Personally, I think BOR thinks more about whether he will be invited to David Letterman’s parties than the other things that don’t really impinge on the world of media & entertainment.
To: LongElegantLegs
I think I’d rather have the shark than O’Reilly.

BOR is just trying to kiss up to the liberals because he knows the hitlery might win.
Yesterday, I was listening to BOR on the radio and he was rambling on and my eyes were glazing over he was so boring. His radio program is like a sleeping pill.

This egomaniac has never been far from the RED line. I also wouldn’t be at all surprised is his copy of the Constitution had lot’s of red-lines.

Morris Dees is the ACLU’s lapdog, in the Nethercutt lawsuit, the San Diego ACLU (of Soledad Cross removal infamy) was co counsel on the lawsuit.
He handles cases even the Aclu doesn’t want to officially sully themselves with taking.
Dees is every bit the race pimp that Sharpton or Jackson is, Bill really has hopped the shark.
So let me guess Bill, they stopped given you invites to NYC cocktail parties and you had to make amends?
Dennis Miller was on the Factor (as usual) and gave Bill the business for having Chris Dood on his show....I am beginning to like Dennis Miller even more actually.

Morris Dees and Bill O’Reilly deserve each other.
Dees said in 1976 he would “break” the NRA.
Bill, go back to looking for the hubcaps and loofahs.
Maroons both of them.
