Glasgow Terror Suspect Dies

A terror suspect being treated for severe burns following a car bomb attack on Glasgow Airport has died in hospital. Kafeel Ahmed, 27, was being cared for at a specialist unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

After being doused with a fire extinguisher by an off-duty policeman, Ahmed was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley.

Ahmed, who is also known as Khalid, suffered 90% burns.

The alleged attack on Glasgow airport came a day after two attempted car bombings failed in London on June 29.

Ahmed spent 33 days in hospital before succumbing to his injuries.

A spokesman for the Scottish Executive defended Ahmed's treatment.

said: "There has been some comment about the treatment provided for him by the NHS.

"It was perfectly right that he should have received the appropriate treatment our health service could offer as this reflects the value our society places on human life.

"The focus now should be on the criminal investigation that is under way."

The Glasgow Airport attack followed two suspected car bomb attempts in central London when police discovered two vehicles allegedly laden with gas canisters and fuel.

Eight people were initially held over the incidents, of which three were eventually charged.

Mohammed Asha, 26, of Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire, was arrested on the M6 motorway near Sandbach, in Cheshire, on the day of the airport attack.

He is accused along with Abdullah of conspiring to cause explosions between January 1 and July 1.

Dr Sabeel Ahmed, 26 and from Liverpool, is accused of not disclosing information that could have helped police arrest a suspected terrorist.

"There has been some comment about the treatment provided for him by the NHS."

Well, they have a waiting list, you know. His treatment for massive was all set to begin in October, but he didn't last 'til then ...

It was sporting of him to try to preheat himself, wasn’t it?

No virgins for Khalid. Not even ugly ones that look like that anti-Semite, Helen Thomas.

Tragic. He deserved to be tried in a court of law before a jury of his peers (victims). Hopefully he would have qualified for a minimum prison sentence of life behind bars.

Too bad. Justice was denied the victims of this sorry coward.

Transferring Gitmo inmates to England's NHS hospitals would constitute "torture" under international law.

Excuse me?

Too bad he wasn’t allowed to ROT on the streets as a example!

Too bad people didn’t roast marshmallows on his burning butt.

Hopefully he’s roasting in Hades tonight where all potential murderers belong.

I’m O.K. with that. IMHO it would have been perfectly appropriate to shoot the sorry s.o.b. on the spot. But the British are not going to do that. I am not British. I’m a retired American Cop.

Just trying to give my British Bobby (SP) Brothers a positive bump. At least they caught the POS and hopefully tried to extract as much intel as possible.

I guess the pigskin skin grafts didn’t hold. :-)

I would not wish this to happen to another human. However, I’m glad Khalid suffered, and I hope he never spent a minute of the rest of his life free from excruciating pain. Guys like him do not fall into my definition of a human.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I've got to go read the story, now, of the pet pig which stubbed his toe...

Shortly after the incident, some smart person commented on this very forum that this guy’s lungs were undoubtedly fried by flame inhalation, and that he would be experiencing a long, slow, extremely painful death.

I’d say 33 days is about right for this SOB.

If they used “standard” technology, they would have used skin grafts typically coming from pigs.

But nooooooooo...he gets the SHARK skin...much more expensive! And dies anyway!

Justice wasn’t “totally” served in this case.

What did the taxpayers get hit with for 33 days of intensive burn care?

The very fact that the west treats these people (for lack of a better word) with expensive treatments only shows that we do not understand the battle we are all facing.

If he wanted to meet allah so bad, who are we to stop him?
