If I were on with Bill I would've asked to see the posts in question and not allow him to ambush me with them. That would've taken the air out of his charges right there. Anti-Bubba's thread demonstrates that his comparison of hate speech between the Daily Kos and freerepublic are disingenuous.

Bill does the same thing to Ann Coulter. He condemns left wing hate speech, but then says the right has it's own haters, too. Equating Ann Coulter with the crazies on the left. Ann is a polarizing writer, but that doesn't make her a hater.

To his credit, O’Reilly noted that the amount of controversial content at FreeRepublic pales in comparison to that which appears on a near-daily basis at DailyKos. O'Reilly went on to add that they (at the Kos) seem to revel in hate.

Still, Bill O'Reilly uses his position as a national figure in a way that I'm thankful for. He goes after judges who are lenient on child abusers, he draws attention to the borders, he takes on the liberal media while he himself is a liberal pinhead. It is intellectual laziness to equate Ann Coulter with the hate on the left just as it is to equate freerepublic with the Daily Kos. Perhaps, it comes naturally if you're a Independent Kool-Aid drinker?

Kristinn was being nice and he got jumped. I Don't think O'Reilly was particularly mad at FR. He was cavalierly using the segment with Kristinn to look "Fair and Balanced" so he could continue his attacks on Kos.

He has to learn that crap can go both ways and he does not get a free shot at us on National Television!

Her critics such as O'Reilly in this case, are actually polarizing readers.

I anxiously await her next book which I will devour in a day or so as I did her other works.

I wouldn’t take his judgement on judges as certain any more. I live in Lawrence County Missouri and about a year or so ago he stated a local judge was lenient about some case. This is a county as Republican and Conservative as any in Missouri. There was not a bit of outrage here locally about the judge because for the most part he was well respected and the locals knew more about the case than the sloppy research O’Reilly did.
