Regarding Bill O'Reilly's attacks on FR: The best defense is a good offense
Vanity

Hey, Bill!

You've got a tough job up there in the clouds riding herd over the folks. Apparently you're having problems with the folks speaking out against the America hating left. But that's ok. Just keep your eyes closed, ears plugged and your jaws flapping. Eventually the folks will tune you out and we'll all be better off for it.

FReepers:

We're taking flak so we know we're over the target. Fire at will! Fire for effect!

I have been done with Billy Boy for a long time. He is a RINO enabling MA liberal.

Hi proudmilitarymrs.

I was asking the same thing on another thread.

I would love to hear what she has to say about this.

I've watched O'Reilly several times and though his show is mostly boring, he has entertained me a few times. I thought him smart at first but he takes so many positions that are inane it would be hard to be a consistent viewer.

Free Republic, however, has often consumed me. I can spend so much time here that other parts of my life are left unattended. My wife has asked me many times could I please stay off it for awhile, and sometime I do, but sometimes I can't. It's an addiction. I'm get hooked.

O'Reilly is fluff. Free Republic is the real thing. Anyone who can't see that is not looking for the truth and has little common sense.

If O'Reilly spent a week here as an active poster, there is no way he could give it up. He's too big a blow-hard.

"O'REILLY: This is what I don't understand. I found them, and it wasn't hard. And I went back and we did a trace just on me and some of the stuff that has been posted about me on your website, and it's just unbelievable."

I missed this when I watched the show originally. It helps explain his attitude - he got his feelings hurt.

I’d like to say I quit watching BOR over this, but I stopped watching him a few mnths ago. He’s there for one pupose: to get an audience by stirring the pot and starting arguments.

I was done with him a long time ago. I just got tired of him.

He acts like his opinions are facts (just like the loony left) to the point I believe he’d say, “2+2 is 5 and that’s it”. Sort of like the “global warming is scientific consensus” BS.

Well, I suppose that, to be "fair and balanced" (as BOR certainly was not in 'cherrypicking' a few bad FR posts out of of thousands of good ones) we should point out that O'Reilly did say,

"But I have to say, and this is absolutely my opinion, I looked at Free Republic and I looked at Daily Kos, and Daily Kos is far worse. They revel in this kind of stuff."

Of course, to be really balanced in his search for trash, he should have also checked out the DUmpster...

I call the technique being used by O'Reilly here "The Tyranny of the Anecdote". All you have to do is find one or two "REALLY BAD THINGS" about your opponent or the thing you want to crush, invent a couple more, and then start smearing away.

The Drive-By Media uses this technique CONSTANTLY to sway public opinion. For example: If ONE child in the United States is injured or killed by [fill in the blanks], we must IMMEDIATELY as a country rise up and change that portion of our society, DAMN the cost!!!

So Bill sends out his minions to find one or two examples of "Free Republic Hatred", invents a couple more, then blind-sides kristinn with them.

It's telling that Bill is so comfortable with the tactics of the Drive-Bys...

We used to watch O'Reilly all the time but haven't in years. After this stunt and unless he apologizes to FreeRepublic and/or Jim Robinson, we'll never watch him again.

O'Reilly should have verified his sources. For if he did this never would have aired.

BOR thinks he is all that, interrupts, lets very few guests finish their sentences, sanctimonious. He does okay on some things and is clueless about others. His head is so big we would all fit in it with plenty of room left for someone to implant some facts.

His show is on now.

It looks like he is going to let Chris Dodd spew his love for KOS

It will be interesting to see him let Dodd talk unlike his constantly interrupting Kristinn last nite.

Well- I think Dennis Miller is about to clean Bill’s clock on Daily Kos.

AND-—he’s interviewing a child from Minneapolis...who was on “the bus”...and Mr. O’Reilly, asked this CHILD “Did you think you were going to die”?

Do not EVER let that man claim to have a heart.

Bill O'Reilly has just demonstrated that the MSM doesn't like what FR does and will do what they can, no matter how dishonest and underhanded, to attain/retain their superiority. The FR has displayed over and over again that the material presented by the MSM needs policing more so than this website, which can be policed by itself with dialog that the MSM outlets do not have. MSM articles and news from TV have no balance and with which no one to answer. The FR allows the public to challenge the veracity and truth of news from the MSM sources...which they obviously do not like.

Excellent point, v.

Bill O'Reilly has just with his act vindicated the fact that he is not fair and balanced and just another member of the slanted MSM.

I'd say so, in spades. You're a just another Drive-By "journalist" gang-banger, Bill.

It's telling that Bill is so comfortable with the tactics of the Drive-Bys...

Hey bud! Hope all is well with you and yours!!

That tactic has also been allowed to be used here for years to marginalise whatever screen name was not thought to be 'thinking right' by the 'in crowd'.
