No, Im not kidding. Heres a paraphrase of what he said:
...the only reason Bush is talking about fatalities is because he didnt give MN enough money to maintain the bridge.
Right, Ed. Because its the President, and not Congress, who appropriates highway funds for roads and bridges.
Whats more, have we really departed so far from our federalist roots that were now blaming the President of the United States for not properly maintaining a bridge in Minneapolis (if that is indeed why the bridge went down)? What about local city officials? County road inspectors? State highway department people? The governor?
But hey, I guess this is what you get from a paid mouthpiece for the Democrat party.
Of course, Schultz isnt the only liberal driven to stupidity by the bridge collapse in Minnesota. Others are saying that the bridge collapsed because, get this, we arent paying enough in taxes. Again, Im not sure why the bridge in Minnesota collapsed (hasnt anyone been inspecting it?), but if more funding was needed to maintain it Congress could have cut back on the number of million dollar bus stops and bridges to nowhere theyve been building with our highway money.
I live in Minneapolis. Im waiting for my $2000. visa gift card. sarcI belive that you get that after you loot.
Wrong ~ that was Charles M. Schulz and he died on February 12, 2000.
Nice try. >:-}
Careful. Bill O'Reilly will see that and say it was hate speech against Hillary.
His 'direct quote' will run like this...
"One FReeper said "I want Hillary to drive over that bridge to her funeral.""
Can't believe Dingy Harry, Schmucky Schumer, and all the 'Rat presidential candidates (including Her Heinous) haven't been all over the airwaves blaming him.)
They've probably still got their pointy little heads together, deciding on the proper verbage that can be made into a catch phrase, ala "culture of corruption", "miserable failure" - you get the picture.
I didn’t know the hack was still on the air. The dude that wrote this must be his next door neighbor.
Oh, that Ed. But, its not nice to talk about the dead that way even when their stories are DOA. /s/
I thought when we got the lottery all our financial woes would be over. Honest Jim Black explained how we would not need to raise taxes and steal funds.
I believe this is Ed Schultz....I think....
Maybe its Lutherans he doesnt like.
More like Germans and Catholics
. . . and we all know that no Germans are Lutheran ;)
Obviously it’s crazy and stupid to be placing blame on anyone - esp. this early - for the bridge collapse.
I live less than 1 from it and it’s strange seeing all the coverage of a local area.
Anyway what does have a lot of people upset here (including on local conservative talk radio) was this statement from the White House:
“This doesn’t mean there was a risk of failure, but if an inspection report identifies deficiencies, the state is responsible for taking corrective actions,” he said. The bridge was 40 years old.”
35W is a FEDERAL Interstate, moreover the construction crews that were working on it when it collapsed were federal contractors from GA, NOT MN.
Just was a really ignorant thing to say that I’m sure they will have to claify and backtrack on.
I wouldn't just dismiss it out of hand.
It's been getting really warm in the summer ever since I can remember...
