Probe Begins in Case of Mother Who Allegedly Killed Four Unborn Children

Ocean City, MD (LifeNews.com) -- Officials in Maryland are beginning an investigation today into the case of a mother who allegedly killed four of her own unborn children and placed their bodies around her house. FBI agents are working with local authorities to determine how the babies died and why 37-year-old Christy Freeman kept their dead bodies.

They must first determine whether Freeman, who has four living children, is the mother of the four deceased unborn babies.

She has already been charged in the death of a 26-week-old unborn child who was discovered under her kitchen sink last week.

The case began when Freeman's longtime boyfriend Raymond W. Godman, Jr., contacted sought medical help for Freeman, who apparently had a miscarriage. Freeman denied she was pregnant at the time medical help arrived and in the emergency room.

However, authorities found bruises on her thighs, abdomen and forearm prior to her admittance to the hospital Thursday with heavy bleeding.

The call for help resulted in a search of her home where the body of one baby was found and that led to a further search that resulted in the discovery of the other bodies.

But whether Freeman committed a crime is a considerable question because Maryland has no law prosecuting women for killing their own unborn children.

The state does have an unborn victims law that punishes criminals who attack pregnant women and kill or injure their babies, but the law doesn't apply to the mother herself.

State Delegate Susan McComas, a Republican who co-sponsored the 2005 unborn victims law, told AP, “We weren't contemplating a woman doing something to her own fetus."

Ocean City Police Chief Bernadette DiPino told the Associated Press that “We need to gather as much evidence as we can" and said State's Attorney Joel Todd is going to have a difficult time putting a case together against Freeman.

DiPino also said a specialist is going to work to determine how Freeman got the bruises on her body and whether they were accidental, self-inflicted or caused by someone else.

Sure sounds like delayed abortions. No big deal. Just some tissue stuff. I mean, what’s the big deal. It’s done 3,300 times every day in this country. Let’s move on.

Hey, it’s a woman’s choice isn’t it? How can they charge her with what a doctor can do legally? Maybe the doctor’s union is upset.

This lady is beyond twisted. If she didn’t want to have the kids she could have took care of the situation the first 7 weeks of pregnancy legally. Weird, weird, weird!

This has to be one of the most gruesome stories I’ve ever heard.

Dr. Slepian would have done the same thing within the confines of his “medical” office. What’s the big deal???

It is twisted. I’m wondering if she had a late-term miscarriage the first time, and then went nuts? It’s so bizaree!

Better yet, an ounce of prevention... This one is BEYOND weird IMO. Why in the world would she leave the little corpses in her house? Surely in all the time span they're talking about, she had an opportunity to dispose of them or bury them. Got to be a serious sicko. And her family never noticed any strange odors?????

Please. What this lady was doing was a danger to herself, irregardless one’s feelings on abortion.

What kind of person would wait so long, do this to themselves, and keep the bodies?

If she didn't want children, she shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place. There's ways of avoiding that; permanently.

That is what makes this case so strange. She has four living children.

How did she kill them while they were “unborn”??

And if she killed them after they were born, why do the articles describe them as “unborn”?

Uh, if there are BODIES of these children, then they are no longer UNBORN. Did she do something to hurry their delivery, deliver them herself then bury them?

I know. After having four living ones and realizing what exactly it is you’re killing, I find it inconceivable that any mother would do this. Of course, that could be said for any abortion. But to do it to herself FOUR times? She could have had her tubes tied.

*sigh*

“Let’s move on.” “When Hell freezes over!”

Doesn’t it make you wonder what the culture of death is doing to us? Whether the kids are unborn or barely out of the womb, they’re fair game for any madman: abortionist or “distraught parent.”

Let’s pray for our youth, toddlers, and unborn.
