Yes, you are being too hopeful. It is the exact opposite. Partial redundancy usually happens, however, total redundancy costs money and has to be designed in. Consequently, it is not.

We just had a new bridge constructed in Rochester, New York. It has arches that are so dominant, they are distracting. It’s a horrible site as you approach it.

Minnesota Governor just said 70,000 bridges nationwide have the same “rating” that his bridge had.
The point is, that bridges just don’t fall from the sky.
What happened?

I know that the bridge was bumper to bumper traffic at the time, so HOW many cars actually fell into the river? You know it had to be quite a lot. Drivers that made it over the bridge, just to see it fall in their rearview mirrors, said cars were just dropping into the river.I heard someone say that the bridge is 1900 feet and the average car is about 12 to 14 ft. long. Not sure if the traffic was down to two lanes each way or one lane. The liberal politicians are on TV already exploiting this tragedy for more tax dollars. Disgusting.

I heard her being interviewed and the baby was restless and the reporter asked about how the baby survived. She responded that her husband brought him/her.

“It appears the bridge was being tended to.”
No, it fell from the sky.
What the hell do we pay taxes for?

It is the exact opposite. Partial redundancy usually happens, however, total redundancy costs money and has to be designed in. And it is entirely possible that what was considered redundancy when the bridge was built forty years ago would not even meet minimum standards today.

"Maybe because the latest inspection was limited to the road surface only? Just asking. "All inspections are primarily for fundamental structural soundness. This bridge must be inspected each year to determine that.

I’ve heard that alot, but has the Shepster confirmed this?
I do know that he’s divorced, not that that means anything.
Come to think of it, his condo is decorated very well in contemporary style, and very neat....
To: wagglebee
Uh, no. Engineers have known alot of this stuff for ages. There is a definition of “redundancy” and it hasn’t changed for centuries.
