I received an e-mail today from the Fox News producer who booked me for the O'Reilly Factor last night. The links have been forwarded to Jim Robinson for review.
Jim asked me to start a thread with the links so that Freepers, and everyone else, could see for themselves what the fuss is about.
The Hillary Clinton stray bullet assassination comment was a very bad joke comment that someone posted two days ago. It was flagged last night after the O'Reilly Factor broadcast and was removed by a moderator. It is available for the time being in Google cache:
To: Virginia Ridgerunner I like my scenario better:
After eight years of the economy faltering, interest rates are 19%, 900,000 people are dead in Iraq since we left, taxes have gone up by 60% and Chile, Bolivia and Columbia are now Communist regimes, a stray bullet at a NARAL rally catches President Clinton and kills her.
As they take away Cindy Sheehan she screams why did she have to remove the troops? We were winning.
The next day the dow goes up 2000 points and closes at 2150.

Don't even bother trying to defend that one. Assassination jokes have no place on Free Republic. Yes, Cindy Sheehan has written of her fantasizies about killing President Bush--and she's not joking, but that's her problem. We're better than that.
The "homosexuals are dogs" comment is taken out of context. The actual quote is "Homosexuals are the modern day dogs in the manger." That was in reference to an article about proprieters in the U.K. not being allowed to deny hotel accomodations to homosexual couples on account of religious belief.
The American Heritage online dictionary gives this description for the phrase: dog in the manger, NOUN: Inflected forms: pl. dogs in the manger. One who prevents others from enjoying what one has no use for oneself. ETYMOLOGY: From a fable in which a dog prevented an ox from eating hay he did not want himself.
That comment was posted two days ago and has also been removed by the moderators. It is available for now in Google cache.
The "I hate blacks" comment was nowhere to be found in the other threads referenced.
The threads are about crime in the black community, gangsta culture and Jesse Jackson. Two of the threads are in the Smoky Backroom.

Don’t want O’reilly or anyone else defining what is ‘hate’ speech and what is not. The line needs to be drawn at inciting physical violence for which there is already a law. Nah O’rielly is talking about thought police, that is were he is going with this. He took comments out of context and even changed the wording [omitted words in comment] in the examples he used. He is not to be trusted. If he ever starts to actually not spin this and not make false and misleading statements I might start to care he has to say. Till then he is not even in my thought range.
I suspect we will hear a lot more from many in the dying media and the left as they want to control the information they fear. “The People” should not have such power in their view. The net is a threat to their way of controlling things. I like the fact they fear us it goes to show we are gaining in influence in the war of thoughts and values.
” The actual quote is Homosexuals are the modern day dogs in the manger.
Cant understand why this comment is objectionable. Are we supposed to stop using commonly-used metaphors simply becasue OReally and his posse at FNC cant understand English? “
Next thing you know, people will start calling BOR a “niggardly popinjay”. Then watch the fur fly. ;)
Excellent, Grampa.
I will be sure to use the expression as often as possible in coming weeks.
“Dog in the Manager” has been a favorite on both sides of our family for generations.
My family has a list of obscure expressions as well, but be assured that there sources are less than stellar.
It will now enter my families lexicon.
I’m late to this thread. But BOR has hammered KOS and Jet Blue for sponsoring a KOS convention all last week. My guess is someone told BOR to “go after” a conservative forum such as this just to be fair and balanced.
FWIW, they don’t have much to go on. This website is squeaky clean compared to the liberal sites. I’ve visited them and I truely feel the need to shower afterward. Those sites are saturated with hate and anger and foul language.
We have a few of those less than stellar expressions. On both sides of our family. If I posted them, BOR would use them as examples of bad posting on FR.
The Dog in the Manger is one of our favorites with a great history and does a great job when used appropriately.
Can I say that?
Good job kristinn! Thank you for holding his feet to the fire!
Yes, I’m sure you can think of a few bitter souls for home that expression fits perfectly!
Could BOR be one of them?
It's a real quote. Matt has played it many times on the air. O'Reilly was talking to Imus in response to being outed by Drudge Report about how radio stations were being paid to air O'Reilly's pitiful radio show.

For those that may be unaware, this was the result of one of his radio shows last week when he first started going after DailyKOS.
A woman called in claiming Bill was not attacking “right wing” hate sites and when he asked for specifics, she named FreeRepublic. He then had Eddie Hill check FR out over the break.
I don’t remember his exact comments, but it was something like “boy, they hate me over there.” He further commented that there was hateful stuff there.
I immeadiately e-mailed him to try and correct him about our rules of conduct her at FR and pointed out to him that there were trolls that were constantly trying to post vile stuff so they could smear the site.
I also reminded him that it was freeper that outed Dan Rather on the Memo-gate issue and that is one of the reasons that lefties hate us so much.
I also informed him that we had a large number of active and former military members on FR.
Unfortunately, I did not save the e-mail, or I would post here. In the e-mail to him I identified myself by both my screen and actual name for his future reference.
I would suspect that someone has e-mailed him stuff that was saved before it could be removed by a moderator.

BOR is the perfect example of a vicious dog in a manager.
That's ah-swee-pay. Ah-swee-pay Johnson.
excellent post my friend.
Boy if hypocracy were crap, he’d be knee deep.
these posts
are probably
.000000001
of the traffic any month on fr.
Why not go and never come back? Why would you post on a website you find disgusting? BECAUSE BY DEFINITION YOU ARE A TROLL!

Do you think BOR knows those are the rarities
