I received an e-mail today from the Fox News producer who booked me for the O'Reilly Factor last night. The links have been forwarded to Jim Robinson for review.
Jim asked me to start a thread with the links so that Freepers, and everyone else, could see for themselves what the fuss is about.
The Hillary Clinton stray bullet assassination comment was a very bad joke comment that someone posted two days ago. It was flagged last night after the O'Reilly Factor broadcast and was removed by a moderator. It is available for the time being in Google cache:
To: Virginia Ridgerunner I like my scenario better:
After eight years of the economy faltering, interest rates are 19%, 900,000 people are dead in Iraq since we left, taxes have gone up by 60% and Chile, Bolivia and Columbia are now Communist regimes, a stray bullet at a NARAL rally catches President Clinton and kills her.
As they take away Cindy Sheehan she screams why did she have to remove the troops? We were winning.
The next day the dow goes up 2000 points and closes at 2150.

Don't even bother trying to defend that one. Assassination jokes have no place on Free Republic. Yes, Cindy Sheehan has written of her fantasizies about killing President Bush--and she's not joking, but that's her problem. We're better than that.
The "homosexuals are dogs" comment is taken out of context. The actual quote is "Homosexuals are the modern day dogs in the manger." That was in reference to an article about proprieters in the U.K. not being allowed to deny hotel accomodations to homosexual couples on account of religious belief.
The American Heritage online dictionary gives this description for the phrase: dog in the manger, NOUN: Inflected forms: pl. dogs in the manger. One who prevents others from enjoying what one has no use for oneself. ETYMOLOGY: From a fable in which a dog prevented an ox from eating hay he did not want himself.
That comment was posted two days ago and has also been removed by the moderators. It is available for now in Google cache.
The "I hate blacks" comment was nowhere to be found in the other threads referenced.
The threads are about crime in the black community, gangsta culture and Jesse Jackson. Two of the threads are in the Smoky Backroom.

Add - I do have to tolerate his radio show for some of my clients. They like him so I play along. Business is business.
While I, too, don’t agree with any assassination language, I do think that that comment was buried in a larger thread that one had to wade through in order to even “get” that it was a hypothetical about killing a future US president. It was a poorly constructed sentence that I probably would have scanned and not caught.
O'Reilly constantly bashes leftist and rightist "ideologues" so you're right FreeRepublic being the ideologue-ist right wing forum can never measure up to the great O'Reilly's centrism so why try?
O'Reilly shudders when he's accused of being conservative so he'll be no friend to Free Republic's conservative values. In addition O'Reilly is pro-homosexual and pro-hate crimes laws and anti-AnnCoulter so he's especially sensitive to anything negative spoken against gays and no matter how it's posted, it's going to be a hate post and eventually Free Republic will have to be shut down under new coming O'Reilly-approved hate crime laws.
To appease the likes of O'Reilly and gain acceptance into his narrow political correct view of the world Free Republic will have to censor (sanitize) more than a few posters and change the opinions of most on this forum, so is this going to proudly remain the Free Republic or now the narrow-sighted O'Reilly Republic?
“Should we write in?”
Been there done that. Was polite and called Bill’s people on the carpet:
Bill,
I’ve watched you since the beginning. I think Geraldo may have infected you with a less than rare disease we call Rather-glamouritis.
It’s when your desire for TV glamour exceeds the capability of your staff to do their homework and leads you astray.
I’ve read Free Republic for a while (but not as long as watching you) and I’ve got serious misgivings about your citations.
You best look into the context/dates of those postings you cited yesterday yourself. And I imagine you will have at least one less staff member after you do.
Regards,
I have to agree with you here. FR lets anyone post here. Even people who would post unsubstantiated lies, like:
Obscene comments that should never be made are made in almost every thread.
How many threads are posted on FR in one day?
How many of those threads have obscene comments in them?
And most importantly, how many of those obscene comments did you hit the abuse button on?
C'mon, silentknight... you made the accusation.
Ante up.
IF Free Republic was the only view of the Republican party that I ever got then I would think Republicans were the most hate filled group out there.
FR is not a Republican forum.
FR is a conservative forum.
There is a big difference between the two, nowadays. But you should know that; afterall, you have posted many times yourself - that President Bush should be impeached. That doesn't sound like the Republican Party line; in fact, it sounds like something that Medea Benjamin or DailyKos posters would say.
It isnt everyone, of course, but there are a large number of people on here that should keep their mouth shut most of the time.
The fox smells his own ca-ca first.
Sorry if this has already been mentioned. I'm not all the way through the thread.
Great point.
Mr. Bill -- why not use myspace.com as your "fair and balanced" whipping boy?
“I am glad you said that we are not a politically correct site.”
That can’t be repeated enough in my opinion. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again...Liberalism, Liberal Thinking and Political Correctness are working to destroy our nation. I will never, ever succomb to Political Correctness. It’s an enemy of any Republic.
Hiding behind O'Reilly's skirt, no doubt.
Of course it is worse! The truth be told O’Reilly has a bigger mouth than any of us.
Real Klass......... : )
yup , . . . trollish posts also , by folks with adult beverage fueled imaginations
read some of the crazy SH*T over on the bridge collapse thread , .. sheeeeesh!
the Gretchen Wilson linked failed. Let me try again: Gretchen Wilson Politically Uncorrect:

And again, I am not into ice skatin.
Everyone’s got pressure points. He has competition, no?
I watch his show regularly. He seldom lies, at least in a way that's noticeable, but it shows when he does.
It was obvious from his demeaner and presentation that he knew, or a least suspected, the truth about FR.
His body language, his manner of delivery, along with a couple of other minor things gave him away.
The body language expert that he has on weekly knows it too.
My surprise in this whole thing is the fact that 2 of the 3 accusations had links that lead somewhere. I expected BOR's office to stonewall Jim and Kristin, or give them 3 bogus links instead of only one. I did expect him to trash FR, as that's why he had them on. Kristin did great.
BOR wasn't in the mood to let anybody talk but himself and the Rev. Al.
He was talking over the CT lawyer trying to explain the situation in CT with the parole board letting the ne'er-do-wells out of prison to commit murder and mayhem.
Explain, not justify, and BOR still wouldn't let him point out that there may be other [Mike Dukakis-like] decisions that haven't seen the light of day.
“I predict he changes the subject and then hides under his desk”
LOL, the bridge saved him today.
"That's so gay!"
Say what you want, we're slipping on the slippery slope to political correctness.
Now that I remember, there was a post of an article which, citing reliable sources, argued that th idea of "racism" was invented and promoted in the West by the KGB. (If you don't believe it, check a 70 year old English dictionary for a definition of this word.) It rang true, and emigrants from the Communist Europe will tell you that it appeared there before it appeared here. The entire post was quickly removed. Politically incorrect. Here or on DU, for that matter.
But at least they're not as atrocious as whites.
Truth be told though, I'm not really that concerned about matching accessories with shoes.
What I do respect very much, is the sense of "free marketplace of ideas," maintained within reason, by FreeRepupblic.com. It is a fundamental element of the American way of life.
