I'm not going to call Bill O'Reilly a liar... yet, but... on his TV show today, he read off a laundry list of ridiculous "hate" statements like "I hate blacks," "Hillary should be assassinated" and "homosexuals are dogs" that he said he personally found on Free Republic and claims that they were posted here today. I do not believe that. I doubt that he personally logged on to FR and I doubt he found any such thing posted here today.
Who knows what we may have missed and is buried deep in our archives of millions of posts, but our readers do a pretty good job of alerting us to anything out of bounds that is posted and we pull it. Also, one of our readers found a couple of the quotes he alleges, and if they are the ones O'Reilly is complaining about, he took them way out of context. They were simply quotes in the articles posted not statements posted by FReepers.
As soon as he provides me a list of the alleged posts and their URLs, I'll believe him. If he doesn't... then... well, guess he'll deserve to be known as what he is.
Oh, Bill... I guess I won’t be tuning in to his show much anymore.
Actually the only posts I believe O’Reilly would actually read on FR are those that he can google his name and find. Now I have to admit that I do believe he is a self-important, pompous windbag who truly believes the world would be a better place if everyone listened to him. But does it make me an intolerant hate-monger if I refer to him as a boob? And I can find proof of that every night he’s on the air.

I have done so. If O’Reilly has used a quote from an off site article titled “I hate Black” that was discussed on FR he was really stupid.
I doubted that he would be that stupid, but if Kristinn does not get a printout of the posts he discussed I will know.

But even the premise is a slander. O’Reilly could always open a FR account and post the things that he wants to condemn later that day on his show — or some lib trolls could decide it is a good time to post the things that the TOOL could use against FR.
It’s as stupid and slanderous as buying a crappy used car from a newspaper classified ad and then blaming the paper for it while also indicting everyone else who posted an ad in the paper.
Who made O'Reilly the only one that is allowed to speak about anything, especially politics? Who made him the ruler of the world? Besides he is wrong on many things but thinks he is right about everything.
BOR looks like he is the BIGGEST jerk off camera. Waiting for a tell-all on that one.
Doesn't happen with Rush, Sean, Mark, Glenn, Laura and all the others.
Tall Bill, is a non-innocent victim of his producers, and his own lack of a 360 complete compass.
To be sure he gets it right most of the time, but when he strays from the reservation it's inevitable failure, albeit short-time.

Jim, I forget to cc you on my post above, #72. I think you should demand that O'Reilly produce his evidence unless someone else here can find it. At the moment I have a feeling he was duped by some low level munchkin on his staff.

Pretty outrageous and downright dishonest to allege such without proof.
O’Reilly is a regular Dan Rather.
tell them to provide a link to it to back it up.....

someone makes an assertion like that...
just tell them ...
"Show me" ..provide a link to prove it"
He tries to gain credibility with "the center," by slamming conservatives every few shows -- even as he becomes wealthy for positing semi-conservative views, as in his Culture Wars ploy.
Meanwhile, his ego is quite likely stroked as he views his ratings and financial holdings.
