I taped a segment on the O'Reilly Factor for airing tonight to defend Free Republic against charges that it is a hate site. The segment will air in the 'D block' around 8:35 p.m. EDT and rerun at 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. EDT.

Rather than tell how it went, I'll leave it for folks to watch and decide for themselves. I hope I did right by FR.

We'll be having company tonight as some of Bill O'Reilly's two million-plus viewers check out FR for themselves. So please bear that in mind as you comment tonight. The Daily Kos is waging a very nasty personal campaign of retribution against O'Reilly. No sense in us piling on. Let's use this as an opportunity to show people why FR is the best conservative site on the web.

Thanks for the UTUBE Oreilly link. I don’t watch Bill anymore because of his rudeness and JUMP to CONCLUSION on all issues. This site is full of du trolls and we all can spot them in a ny second. But in case BO or DU is lurking on here... I will admit I have said I dispise the left and MSM, my mom said never say hate! So I have strong dislike for those on the far left. By the way, I do have some dimo friends who are very confussed because they get all of their news from cnn or other msm outlets and they are just not smart enough to find alternative forms of finding the true............ as in FREE REPUBLIC.

I am very conservative, and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. My husband and I kind of keep to ourselves because so many people in this area do not espouse our values. In this area it is very unpopular to be conservative.

FR gave me a place to speak the truth about how I feel. You can’t do it out in public too much anymore, at least not in our area. I know we all supposedly have 1st amendment rights and all that, but if I even hint at what I really believe in, I can be labeled a hypocrite(Christian), racist (against illegal immigration, don’t trust anyone from the religion of pieces), homophobic, (don’t believe in homosexuality or gay marriage), even though I don’t try to convert or judge people, don’t hate other religions, races, and I don’t hate gays, I just don’t agree with the lifestyle. Isn’t it hateful to put those kind of labels on someone just because they don’t happen to agree with you?

The only hate I can see on this site so far is the anger for the politicians who sold us out and don’t represent us, the hatred for the general lack of values in today’s society, and the continued contempt of the powers that be, who continue to destroy our country in the name of tolerance, multiculturalism, diversity, the (not so much anymore)almighty dollar, and obtaining constituents.

Why is it hateful to want what is right? Why is it hateful to try and protect our sovereignty? Why is it hateful to enforce the immigration laws? I wouldn’t expect to be able to just waltz over the Canadian or Mexican border and demand a free ride just for being there.

We need FR. There are very few voices of reason and sanity left anymore. We’re sunk if we have to rely on the mainstream media. I’m tired of reporters and politicians telling me what I should believe in. I’m tired of the thought police. I’m tired of hate crimes-all murders are bad! I’m tired of the double standards and the lies. One side’s free speech is another side’s hatred.

Maybe people are really just afraid enough of us might get together and actually be able to do something about the mess we’re in. If enough people like us get out there and vote, they could be in a whole heap of trouble!

FR and sites like it help educate the masses. The powers that be don’t really want us to educate ourselves. They want us to medicate ourselves so we don’t really notice what’s going on. That’s probably another reason why they want the border wide open.

After viewing the video, I am certain that O'Reilly is a complete light weight with no credibility whatsoever. His treatment of you, Kristinn was as if he believes that you are far beneath him. I had to wonder what the hell he was even reading from. If a person made those comments here I know for a fact they wouldn't last 10 seconds..So I suppose I'll have to question most of BOR's facts in the future since he couldn't be bothered to name who said those things. We are the folks here and we are pretty good at self policing the place. A lot better than the way BOR presented his so called facts about FR.

This might be another possibility for a source of the quote where BOR said someone posted "I hate blacks." I took the liberty to edit the original thread for the purpose of illustrating my point.

We are a microcosm of conservative society. A cross-section of America.

For the record, B.O., we sometimes enjoy mocking people on this site. That is fair game in the political battle. When someone on the other side is ill, we pray for them and don’t hope they die. When someone on the other side dies, we give condolences and prayers to the family. Although it occasionally sneaks through, our language is clean. Sometimes trolls and newbies come here and put up a disgusting post. They are removed as quickly as possible. Just because we don’t want gays to marry and adopt children, that doesn’t mean we hate them. Most of us just want them to live their lives and do whatever they do behind closed doors, not in the streets in front of our children. When the Dems are in power, unlike what the other side does, we don’t want America to lose a war and we don’t want the economy to collapse. We want everyone to succeed — yes even black people! We are not racists here. Far from it. We look at people as individuals and judge them that way. In most instances where you find hate on this side, what we hate are evil people doing evil things. I have incredible disdain for Hillary Clinton, not because I simply have a political disagreement, but because she did things like try to destroy women behind the scenes whom her sexual predator husband assaulted. She has gotten away with violating the law for many years. She will do anything for power and, because of that, she is very, very dangerous.

You misrepresented FreeRepublic. There's a huge difference between decency and political correctness. DailyKos is indecent. FreeRepublic is decent but not politically correct. Thanks so much for writing. Every word you wrote is just the way I feel. We (our views) are not wanted to be heard from some folks. Our world is a bit upside down sometimes. Everything thats bad, is good to others, and everything thats good, is bad to others. Its certainly not like it was when I was growing up. We just have to bite our tongue sometimes in certain situations, I guess. I am a bit stubborn though and do speak my mind on occasion. But Free Republic is my refuge. I lost my hubby three years ago and while I was a member when he was living, it sure meant a lot more to me when I found myself alone. I don’t get to spend as much time as I would like on FR but I get on several times again. Nice hearing from you though, Cali!
