Bush hatred has taken on a new, virulent mutation: animus towards First Lady Laura Bush. Witness today's New York Times column by Judith Warner, 24 as Reality Show [subscripton required].
Warner's jumping off point is Kiefer Sutherland's response to a question about the advent in this coming season's "24" of a woman president. Observed the actor who plays Jack Bauer: I can tell you one thing. We had the first African-American president on television, and now Barack Obama is a serious candidate. That wasnt going to happen eight years ago. Television is an incredibly powerful medium, and it can be the first step in showing people what is possible.
That prompted Warner to write:
I giggled a bit nastily over this at first. What was next claims that fingering China as a one-nation axis of evil on 24 had presaged the countrys exposure this spring as the source of all perishables tainted and fatal? That screen first lady Martha Logans descent into minimadness anticipated Laura Bushs increasingly beleaguered late-term demeanor? (Has anyone but me noticed her astounding resemblance to Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix?)"24" aficionados know that Logan is a former First Lady gone mad who is currently institutionalized at a mental health facility. According to Wikipedia, "a quick scale of squeaky notes would accompany the background soundtrack whenever her character appeared, known affectionately among fans as the "cuckoo music.'"
ROFLMAO!!!
Perfect response!
What a convoluted sentence. And Judith gets paid to write?
Either she is baiting or she is just insane. One thing for sure there is no breeding or class here. Another thing for sure, this one is going to have the old “it’s gonna jump up and bite you in the fanny” one day. And it will be well deserved.
The author obviously doesn’t really watch the show, or he’d know that Martha Logan was not as crazy as everyone thought. She kept muttering about conspiracies, but she was right. There were conspiracies.
If you want to compare Laura Bush to someone who’s deranged, I would suggest comparing her to a Times columnist.
Well, to be fair, she did write about Hilliary in her book "Hillary Clinton: The Inside Story"
Oh wait, that was a liberal, lesbian, love-fest....never mind.
That's why I say she has to be somebody's kid. People this stupid don't get published without an influential parent, and certainly don't get picked up by the New York Times.
Judith Warner..........................Senator John Warner
Hmmmmm.....
My kids and I thought the Deloris Umbridge character (sp?) in the book was the spittin’ image of Hillary down to her pretty pink cardigan. They claim the movie version is closer yet.
wow,the heights that these people go too for their hatred to GW. Leave Laura alone,at least she has never tried to be “co-president”.
what next, maybe take aim on the Bush twins,Barney & Ms Bealzy, not even the Mafia would stoop so low
At the checkout line today I noticed one of the Hollywood newspapers featuring an article that seems to be from an alternate universe. There was a photograph of the Pres and First Lady and some weird text such as alcoholism and divorce and a pile of odd things. The Globe, I think, but it might have been something else. Now that Weekly World News is out of business are these others moving to take their place but at a lower level?
Betcha she's got Hillary's name tattooed somewhere, like the Number of the Beast. ;-)
Not to mention the Secret Service agent’s lover trying to knock off Laura...
I ask again, why are leftists so damned ugly? |
And we have guns, lots of guns.
(I may not be a native Texan, but I've got the same combination of Scotch-Irish and German heritage that make up the feedstock of the "Been in Texas for Generations" families, might even have a little Spanish, we're not sure, but my Grandfather's middle name *was* Carlos, Guy Carlos, family name at birth unknown).
What a twisted, bitter woman. I pity her child/children .. and she has at least one. She wrote a whining missive about how pressured today's mothers and what a mess they have. Whatever would she and these weaklings today have done in the pioneering days, the spoiled witches??
The whining mother's book review from the NYSlimes itself about: "PERFECT MADNESS - Motherhood in the Age of Anxiety" ... even they panned her.
BTW, Judith Warner is a biographer of Hillary Clinton and Newt Gingrich and the co-author of a book with Howard Dean.
Nah ... no vengeful BDS'n partisanship there! (MUCH!!)
