AFA to Counter Boycott of Fox News Channel
The American Family Association (AFA) says it will counter the efforts of left-wing groups to boycott Fox News Channel.
Groups such as MoveOn.org, the Campaign for Americas Future and liberal blogs like DailyKos.com have called for a boycott of Fox News Channel. DailyKos says the network characterizes itself as a fair news network when it consistently favors a conservative point of view.
"Every advertiser the liberals want to target for a boycott, we will target to promote, said AFA chairman Donald E. Wildmon. "I think we can do a better job than these groups when it comes to boycotting and buycotting, he said.
"The liberal groups want to force Fox News Channel to put a liberal spin on their news. They are upset that Fox gives us fair and balanced news, something the liberals cant stand, Wildmon stated.

Praise the Lord! That should put a kink in their armor.

Here is the liberal site that is targeting FOX News:
Let the little dweebs have their silly boycott (another Not One Damn Dime campaign, maybe?); they’ve been boycotting Limbaugh and Coulter for years without making a dent.
Their problem is that viewers PREFER to watch FOX.
Boycotts don’t work except on a local level. Advertisers will spend their bucks to put their products in front of the most eyeballs. If there are not enough eyeballs on CNNBCBSABC, the Fox gets the money............
“According to an ABC poll...”
Gees...the MSM is making its own news. Trust me...if I have an agenda and I want to have a poll support my point of view, I can design a questionnaire that will find exactly what I’m looking for.

Bingo! FReepers who complain about Fox not being “conservative” enough don’t get it. The best scenario is to have Fox — or any news outlet — present balanced news coverage. Presenting BOTH sides means that conservatives will win 90 percent of the time. Becoming a conservative slanted news outlet means they have no credibility.
Now, if they would just do away with their obsession with celebrity coverage.
Let them waste their time boycotting. The fact is: People watch Fox News because it is a better product than the other networks. I know several libs who prefer Brit Hume over any of the other anchors. His show seems much more professional and insightful compared to say, Katie Couric’s.
How can one boycott anything when broke, unemployed (by their own accord), and living in mom’s basement?
This boy or buy (coting) of Fox will go the way of Algores global warming concerts, no where.
Dittos on that.
And do away with the latest-missing-blonde 'tragedy TV' crap too. (You'd have to wonder what Greta would talk about for an hour if they did that ... :^)

Robert Greenwald: ‘Fox News is an Example of What Happens When We Have Extreme Media Control’
The producer/director of the new documentary film “Outfoxed” says that Fox News Channel’s “consistent support” of the Republican party is an issue “critical to democracy.”
Greenwald, a longtime politically active independent filmmaker, says he was inspired to make the documentary after observing the key role the news media had played in President Bush’s “ability to convince us to go to war” with Iraq, and that Fox News Channel “was the leader of that.”
“Outfoxed” received financial backing from the activist organizations MoveOn.org and the Center for American Progress.

Are you hoping that “Outfoxed” will ride the coattails of the right-wing bashing “Fahrenheit 9/11”?
Greenwald: No. First of all, I don’t consider “Fahrenheit 9/11” as right-wing bashing. I think it’s a brilliant piece of filmmaking that explores in-depth some of the most important issues of our time. And I don’t think it’s a question of riding any coattails.
[...Every advertiser the liberals want to target

Really? If we have the clout we think we do,
conservatives should boycott billion dollar
corporations who support liberal organizations
like Kohl’s, Ben & Jerry’s and Starbucks. MHO.
This study weighed in detail the amount of time the various networks spent on each side of an issue. This is a good reference for anyone.
Robert Greenwald - producer, director and political activist. Greenwald and the team at Brave New Films, have created a number of politically charged documentaries - Outfoxed, Wallmart - the high cost of low price and most recently Iraq for Sale - the War Profiteers. Over time they have created their own model for making and distributing their work and in the process, have helped to spark social change.
BRAVE NEW FILMS, Greenwald’s new media company, uses film to tell stories that build movements and influence debate about the most important issues of the day. Brave New Films released the THE BIG BUY: TOM DELAY’S STOLEN CONGRESS in May of 2006 and recently produced two TV series: ACLU FREEDOM FILES and THE SIERRA CLUB CHRONICLES which can be seen on Link TV, Court TV (ACLU) and via the internet.
