US braced for bloody pull-out-(Gates.to Clinton,".such planning is indeed taking place")

AT THE Army College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Major Daniel Morgan is studying the lessons for Iraq of the Soviets’ chaotic exit from Afghanistan in the late 1980s. The roads were choked with tanks and heavy weaponry, making the demoralised soldiers easy prey for guerillas.

“The Soviet Army actually had to fight out of certain areas,” said Morgan, who has served twice in Iraq.

There is no easy exit from Iraq, but defence secretary Robert Gates has admitted for the first time that the Pentagon is poring over the options. Under pressure from Hillary Clinton, the senator for New York, defence officials are to give a “closed door” briefing to the Senate Armed Services Committee this week about US troop withdrawals.

“You may rest assured,” Gates wrote to Clinton, “that such planning is indeed taking place with my active involvement.”

It's actually a jab: her thighness may 'rest assured'.

Texas A&M boys don't bow down before butch megalomanic divas who want to see US defense ripped to shreds.

I think this is just some foreign journalist sucking up to Hillary.

If this happens within no longer that 6 months, probably much less actually, there will be plenty of blood flowing in the United States.

The muslims will follow the troops over here[ the United States] and along with their moles already in place here begin blowing things up.

If GW had papers drawn up to immediately pull all our troops out of Iraq, laying out the plan for all to see. Then on the bottom line in big letters have it say: I as a member of Congress take full responsibility for all deaths and slaughters that occur from us pulling out. Then have a place for each of them to sign it.

How many do you think would sign. Somebody pass this on to the President and see if there are any takers.

Plus, the Democrats and some others have indicated they want to get out and damn the strategic consequences or the genocide. If a Democrat or Ron Paul wins, the ignominious surrender will have to be implemented.

We already won.
There is no surrender.
It is time to take off the training wheels and cut the welfare payments.
The Iraqi's can handle it or they would not go on "Vacation".
If the order to withdrawal was given tomorrow, it would take 20 months to implement.
So we are stuck until 2011 at the earliest, because w is not going to pull out.
Ask yourself why we didn't end sanctuary in Iran and Syria before this?
Why is Pakistan getting a pass?
It is the policy that is flawed.
Baghdad should have been glass on 9-12

I believe that every Democrat and Socialist and a few Republicans would sign it.

Of course the Pentagon plans for all of this...and Hillary knew that when she “demanded” it. It was all in order to get it on the front page (so that our enemies see it and we can lose...that’s all they want is for us to lose before she can win.)

Good than, let’s do it. George Bush can say, “I wash my hands of this war and now it is on the shoulders of the Democrats and signers of this pact.” Then pull the troops all out immediately.

“They are starting to think in that direction,” he said. “The Soviet scenario could certainly happen but what really worries me is the example of Vietnam.”

A total load of horse Sh#t. We pulled our combat troops out of Vietnam and turned it over to the South Vietnamese without a hitch. The chaotic fall in 75 was just an EVACUATION of remaining US personnel and Vietnamese.

Got my vote.

Then the idiots over here can experience muslim love first hand.

The only redeeming reason for us being there and subjecting our troops to the political bullshit that they have to go through, many at the price of their lives, is that we are fighting them over there, not over here.

Since when do state Senators decide tactics ( strategy?) in Army field operations? We as a nation have indeed sunk pretty low. Will she be personally responsible for those killed in such an operation? May God have mercy on this nation.

“You may rest assured,” Gates wrote to Clinton, “that such planning is indeed taking place with my active involvement.”

What he really wanted to say is "We a are indeed planning to do all we can to avoid the almost certain collapse of power that will occur if Sen. Clinton and her colleagues in the Democrat party succeed in forcing us to retreat from a war we most assuredly are capable of winning."

Suppose we decide we really don't much care whether they are convinced.

They are afraid to even allow other men to stand up to enemies thousands of miles away, in their stead. Would they stand up to us?

Right. And 2 years after we leave Iraq, Iran will invade with massive columns of conventional armor and seize the place - if their agents haven't simply assumed power from within the government, already.

But why would we sit still for it again? What would stop us if we simply decided not to put up with it, and to just go ahead and win without asking the school marm for permission?

Regardless if we withdraw next week or next year, or even five years from now, if we don't establish a permanent strategic base in Iraq from which we can immediately retaliate against any future nation/state-sponsored terrorism here or in the mid-east against the U.S., all American blood that has been spilled in Iraq during the last six years will have been in vain.

It would be absolutely unconscionable and the mother of all military blunders if we were to pack up and leave in toto.

I believe that one of the main reason that the U.S. has not had a continuing barrage of terrorist activities since 9/11 is because we have had the capability of pounding any terrorist nation back to the stone age in very short order if it became necessary. And it wouldn't be too hard to prove which nation state in the M.E. has become wreckless and brazen by overtly sponsoring terrorism.

The traitors in congress will have more than just the blood of our warriors on their hands if we don't establish permanancy there, as the war would shift to the streets of the U.S. within months and the casualties here would be too innumerable to count.

It is beyond my comprehension why the withdrawal freaks, both civilian and in government cannot see the immediate and ultimate consequences of their stupidity and fear-driven agenda.
