A total load of horse Sh#t. We pulled our combat troops out of Vietnam and turned it over to the South Vietnamese without a hitch. The chaotic fall in 75 was just an EVACUATION of remaining US personnel and Vietnamese.

Right. And 2 years after we leave Iraq, Iran will invade with massive columns of conventional armor and seize the place - if their agents haven't simply assumed power from within the government, already.
But why would we sit still for it again? What would stop us if we simply decided not to put up with it, and to just go ahead and win without asking the school marm for permission?

"When America lost the will to sustain the South Vietnamese regime, Congress cut off the funding for the war and the South Vietnamese army collapsed."
I can see that happening to the Iraqi army if this Congress says were going to pull out our troops and not support the Iraqis. There would be a political collapse and the very real potential of helicopters on the roofs.
