Of course, its finger in the wind time all the time, and the last 6 weeks of the election they will be all smiles all the time not wanting to alienate anyone. They will even become conservatives just before the election!! Its always smoke and mirrors with them.

Fareed is a really creepy kind of guy.

You think Newweak would employee him if he weren't?

Like most people of small accomplishments but titanic egos (Joe Biden and Thomas Freidman come to mind), they are easily seduced by the Arabs manners. The Arabs will make you think you are their best buddy, all the while picking just where they are going to stick the knife. So these intellectually vacant politicians and "Journalists" go meet with Arab "Intellectuals" and Govt officials and think "ah ha, finally someone recognizes my true worth" and simply go native. Fareed is simply regurgitating the group think fed him in his bubble world of "Journalism".

You are right, last election they moved to the Right of most of our candidates that were trying to move Left. Not sure how they can accomplish that on the war though. They have to hope it doesn’t get won in the next 15 mos.

Zalmay Khalilzad, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations

He's the US ambassador to Iraq, not the UN.

Wasn’t there a North Vietnamese general who wrote in his memoirs that they could not have prevailed without the assistance of the US media and the Jane Fonda/John Kerry types?

Vo Nguyen Giap wrote it. He was the overall NVA General.

One thing I got from FOX this AM was the positive and calming presence of Britt Hume. Watching Newt in his self appointed, or anointed, senior adviser role giving Gonzalez to the RATS because they have successfully, in the eyes of Newt, emasculated him, made me livid. If Gonzales left his AG position, there would be no AG, only an acting AG, until after the 2008 elections. Gonzales is holding the fort and catching the RAT spears so others in the Bush administration can get on with their jobs. He only has to hold out a relatively few more months and has the satisfaction that he is keeping the RATS in a perpetual tizzy. Russ Fiengold repeated the mantra started last week by Reid that Bush was the worst president in all of US history. He added to that proclamation by saying this was the worst run presidency in US history. We can expect to hear versions of that theme until the RATS call a news conference to announce their latest earth shattering grievance with the Bush administration. I won’t even talk about Juan. I really like him but like Mara, he is getting more RAT partisan as the campaigns heat up. I end with being grateful that Brit is still sane.

“What we still don’t understand is why you Americans stopped the bombing of Hanoi. You had us on the ropes. If you had pressed us a little harder, just for another day or two, we were ready to surrender! It was the same at the battles of TET. You defeated us! We knew it, and we thought you knew it. But we were elated to notice your media were definitely helping us. They were causing more disruption in America than we could in the battlefields. We were ready to surrender. You had won!” - General Vo Nguyen Giap, North Vietnam (memoirs)

If anyone has access to the stephy/Orrin hatch/ Schumcky interview that just appeared on This Week without David you need to watch it.!! Hatch was nothing short of phenomenal.!!
He represented Gonzalez with all the strength and common sense he possibly could, it was great tv.

^^^^^^

I just heard this on cspan radio, and Hatch was masterful. The RNC should put the video clip on youtube and send out a fundraiser email. Maybe people would start donating again.

And lo and behold the NYT has a solution to the "problem"

Don’t forget that Alberto is a minority who is in league with the evil Dubya. This is definitely no permiso. The media and Dems crucify any minority who does not fit their stereotype and template of how they should behave and act.

Thanks, that particular aspect of this bit of nastiness slipped my mind.

Powell saved himself by being willing to stab the President in the back.
