I cannot watch anything but FOX anymore. Even the Dem guests on FOX bother me too much now too.

It's kind of like when you were young and had just broken up with someone...I could only listen to hard rock for a while...no emotional love song stations could be tolerated until I gained a bit of strength. lol

I miss my fellow Texan up there on the Hill doing what’s right.

Now that he’s living here in N Virginia I keep hoping to run into him.

while talking about Obama and comparing to Dean’s attraction in 2003 .. Chris says Obama has Reagan’s optimism

The libs sure do like to compare themselves to Reagan alot these day

I've lost count how many times the've tried to quote him on the Senate Floor or in their debates

I love Duncan Hunter - and live in San Diego, but I understand the ways of politics. I wish he could be heard more, because Conservatives would love him.

Personally, I know he would be FANTASTIC for America---just what we need, but I will be happy knowing that any one of our Republican candidates won. (EXCEPT RP)

I guess Chrissie fails to understand exactly WHERE we are getting the info to stop the plots here in the U.S.

Yes Snugs, most of them do. I attended a town meeting with Senator Jeff Jessions (R-Alabama) a year or so back. It was lots of fun.

My understanding is that some of them do not, though, or it is VERY, VERY scripted (think Hillary in some New York village).

You’re absolutely right. Forgive me...my thoughts of the must see TV on the floor of the UN swept me away for a moment ;-)

That reminds me saying Cheney and Larry King in the same breath when Larry King interviewed him in 2000 and called Dick. He immediately apologized and Cheney immediately said no problem we have known each other long enough that it is Dick and Larry or words to that effect - I am paraphrasing but that was what was meant.

I also remember an interview with Lynne Cheney and Larry King in 2002 or 2003 when he referred to Dick throughout the interview. I know many Americans may find this disrespectful but coming from the UK and if reporters have known top government officials in other capacities and been on first name terms they tend to continue it. There are quite a few reporters in Britain who called Tony Blair Tony throughout his Prime Minister-ship. I in fact find this more honest than immediately switching to Mr or Minister this or that or whatever title they have.

This also leads me to ask why is it that Americans tend to use the last title that a government official has held rather than reverting back to Mr once they have left office?

On a different topic but referring to the VP, it was good to see him looking so well and relaxed after his medical procedure yesterday.

Vice President Dick Cheney smiles as he leaves George Washington University hospital in Washington, Saturday, July 28, 2007 after minor surgery to replace the battery unit that powers a device monitoring his heart rhythms.

I'm watching MTP right now it's a complete rat/fest. The only way to describe it.

It's as if everyone on the panel was given DNC chatting points before the show and they are all yapping about "we need change, who will be the best agent of change, change, change, etc etc.!!

And then Obamo comes up with the best of all. "He" is the best on foreign policy because he lived abroad for so long.

With logic like this it's no wonder that the dems come off as pathetically stooopid time and time again.

These people don't have a clue about govt., governing, the world ,war or anything but how to manipulate idiots of all creeds, stripes, to vote for them by doing what ever, whenever, at any cost.

Everything they do is about voter manipulation nothing else matters to these socialist traitors.

Seems to be the standard Liberal meme these days.

The DUmmies and Kos Kids like to cite some obscure comment Reagan made about the ME and the fact he pulled out of Lebanon after the marine barracks bombing as to why we shouldn’t be there now.

“See...even Reagan knew...” is how they begin.

Unbelievable. Wallace points out to Feingold how it is unlikely that Gonzales lied to them, and Fiengold just thinks crimes have been comitted. Russ, you need to have some scintilla of evidence...unless you are you.

Actually, he looks and sounds like a complete fool.

I have been very impressed by Hunter as well. I would hope there would be a place for him in the next Republican administration.

Well we COULD still get that kind of entertainment with Tom DeLay or perhaps Ambassador Cheney.

Maybe, Rod, but you never can tell with these Machiavellians. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn the whole Clinton/Obama spat is a script they’re running.

Clintons will do WHATEVER it takes to get back into the WH, imho. Having Obama on the ticket will ensure liberal airheads with plenty of White Guilt get behind her Heinous.

That took me nearly an hour to pick now I have to decide what to do with them. I gave one punnet to a friend that drives dad around (the one with the white German Shepherd) and I will give another punnet to my friend this evening but that still leaves 4.

We will use one for the Pavlova for desert and then I think I will make some blackberry and nut bread that Lysie gave me the recipe for.

Also I will probably do a blackberry and apple suet pudding later in the week.

members of Congress don't routinely broadcast their meetings with the public, or at least the local media doesn't really talk about it much. For example, I have never seen a listing of such public meetings in the local newspapers. The media, at least in my area, prefer to be the filter between elected officials and voters.

State and local (county, township, municipal) officials usually have a booth at local business fairs in the late winter and sometimes at local summer festivals, but they too will often rely on the people who come to a meeting and complain as their contact with the people.

I think both GW and Gonzalez realize now that the entire matter is about setting up yet another perjury trap(after successfully trapping Scooter) this time for Gonzales. Next time someone else and next time after that Cheney, Rice etc etc. etc etc.,finally impeach GW.
That’s what it has always been about but no one talks about it.
