Hello You People,
The Kentucky Chapter Meeting is now concluded. I wish we could have had a larger turnout. But we had fun, nonetheless. In attendance were RonPaulLives, SomeCallMeTim, Skinkinthegrass, BlueOneGolf (and his family), and Lurker Jeff.
To quote SomeCallMeTim, "I learned a great deal about Kentucky politics that I didnt know. It was also really fun to hear the various brands of Conservatism that we all have. So many viewpoints and varying priorities.... but, we all were united in our love of Liberty. I guess this constant unites Freepers more than any other." A-men to that.
We have decided that the next Freeper meeting will be held in Lexington, more details to be decided later.
And now the much-anticipated results of our Republican Primary 2008 Straw Polls. Those in attendance were asked to give their top three choices. The first poll was conducted without Fred Thompson in the race:
1. Duncan Hunter
2. Mike Huckabee
3 (tie). Mitt Romney
3 (tie). Tom Tancredo
5. Ron Paul
The second poll was conducted with Fred Thompson as a choice:
1. Fred Thompson
2. Duncan Hunter
3. Mike Huckabee
4 (tie). Ron Paul
4 (tie). Mitt Romney
6. Tom Tancredo
And, without going into any post-poll analysis, let it be known that Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Sam Brownback and Tommy Thompson received no votes.
Will a FReep be going on for the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot in October?
Funny you should ask. I was mentioning the Machine Gun Shoot at tonight's meeting. Maybe...if there is demand for it....we could have our next (Lexington) meeting in August or September, and then meet around Louisville again for the Machine Gun Shoot weekend. But I'm just sayin'. I will wait for responses.
Cool, my birthday is on the Sunday of that weekend. But I have no idea as to what I’m doing for it yet. I need to save my money for a trip to Europe next year.
A FReep is a counter action against a Leftist event or protest. The KCR MG Shoot definitely doesn't qualify! Perhaps you just meant a a KY FReeper get together at the Shoot.
Great fun tonight RPL. As I posted on the KY FR State Page my suggestion for our next meeting is a cookout at the Lake Reba Park Complex in Richmond, KY. Centralized location in the state for all the KY FReeepers to get to. And the Straw Poll should make a return appearance as well!
Congratulations, skink!
But, we never got to talk about golf! :-)
Hey Skink! Don’t drink it all at once! Take it from me, that’s a BAD idea.
Woodford is best when sipped over ice... with just a tiny splash of water... or, better yet, a little melt of the ice.
Next meeting.... Old Pogue! :-) (for me!)
kentucky rules the Senate R’s and the RNC, so, now, I suppose you are going to take control of FR. LOL
1. Log onto FR.
2. In the upper right corner of the forum page click "More".
3. Click "My Locale".
4. Click "Set My Location"
Now whenever there are new posts on the KY State Page you'll be notified after you log onto FR.
The State Pages can also be accessed by clicking "Home" then scrolling down the left column on the FR Home Page. It's listed under the "Alliances" category.
I highly reccomend ALL FReepeers check out their State Pages!
I had a wonderful 2 weeks reprieve from a lot of the toxic politics of the NE!!
How many Freepers are in So. Central KY? Howsabout a meeting in or near Bowling Green. Preferably Thursday or a Sunday because my job has me up in the Hodgenville/Greensburg area on every other day of the week....
Kentucky: Five Million People; Fifteen Last Names ...
Kentucky: 5 3.3 Million People; Fifteen Last Names ...Where did the extra 10 last names come from?
B1G: We did mention Golf. :D
I love Kentucky FReep reports! Although I don’t see any in the FReep pictures, I imagine a group of mountain Gospel Bluegrass fiddlers, singers and banjo players just around the corner providing music. Don’t tell me if it ain’t so because I want to maintain my illusions!
Let me know when the next Freeper meeting is in Lexington.
Just curious, who all are you kin to there? Know quite a lot of folks there..
