"WAR HAPPENS. DEAL WITH IT !" —Walter Reed FReep #118, 7/20/07
DC Chapter | July 26, 2007 | Albion Wilde, with photos by [Mrs] Trooprally

Posted on 07/26/2007 8:41:42 PM PDT by Albion Wilde

WASHINGTON, DC, July 20, 2007— In a week in which half of the US Congress continues to believe that a suicidally determined enemy will no longer pose a threat if Congress abandons the Iraqi people and the War on Terror, FReepers and military family members continue to uphold the majority of the American people — who support the mission as well as "the troops", who want to stay safe, and who are disgusted with a Congress that, depending which poll you ask, has generated its lowest approval ratings yet as it continues to dither over whether to surrender outright, or surrender the US military through politically-motivated sabotage.

FReeper armymarinemom's shirt tells Congress and the whining lefty elites what grownups know.

We were honored this week by a visit from Blue Star mother and FReeper armymarinemom. Earlier in the day, she had met President Bush at the White House, with a group of War on Terror veterans and military family members representing a variety of pro-victory organizations. armymarinemom and her husband, armymarinedad, are founders of Military Families Voice of Victory, a non-partisan group, according to its home page, to "support the missions of our loved ones."

Cindy-True-Supporter and armymarinemom see eye-to-eye.

Jimmy Valentine's Brother posted himself as close as possible to the Pinko station to display his signs, giving his opinion of the Demolition party's Congressional all-nighter to protest the war in Iraq. Even a RINO like Arlen Specter thought Harry Reid's latest antics were another pointless waste of taxpayer dollars.

One of our FReepers arrived in a stars'n'stripes ride. It's a "chase car" from the US Flag Balloon, pictured below:

Last week, a female reporter came and chatted up several FReepers. This week she was back again, trailing a photographer; but this week she went down to the Code Pinkos and was greeted effusively by DC CodePink underbanana, Allison Yorra. As we have learned, the DC Chapter can have forty FReepers, six or eight huge banners, dozens of signs, hundreds of flags, and (I'm not making this up) twin children doing a dance routine for the troops, but reporters will attach themselves like Velcro to the seven pathetic anti-war protestors with crayon-scribbled "bring them home" signs.

Girl reporter worships at the altar of union wife Candy Wolf. Even though it's lib-religious, the anti-war "vigil" just keeps dwindling.

Multi-generational intellectual poverty: Pinko Allison Yorra and her children prepare to hang a Code Pink banner on the fence of Walter Reed.

Girl reporter returns to the FReep at the gates of Walter Reed, where her face shows her true colors. Her photographer points to mecca, left rear. Right rear, lurker Sheree from Alexandria.

La la la la laaah la, we don't care what snotty J-school reporter dweebs think. We're here for the troops. Left to right, tgslTakoma, Doctor Raoul, [Mr] Trooprally.

All our MOABs and banners are often photographed by passing cars and pedestrians. Tonight, a young African-American man stood across the street to photograph our newest banner with his cellphone.

FReepers Fraxinus and Doctor Raoul.

We were visited by Evan and Sheree from Alexandria. Evan is studying criminal justice and photography at a Pittsburgh university; he is doing a free speech project. They had learned that anti-war protesters were "vigiling" at Walter Reed through Protest.net, a site that rounds up Hate-America activism around the nation, sorted by region. Surprised and apparently pleased to see our FReep, Sheree said, "This one is a lot more fun than the one down the street!"

Left to right, VAFlagWaver, Dave from WR, VictoryNY, unknown woman, R.T.Delta.

The busdriver turned the interior lights on so his passengers, recovering troops and families, would be more visible to us as we cheered their return to the WRAMC base.

The Honor Roll of attendees at tonight's rally included FReepers ArmyMarineMom, BufordP, Cindy-True-Supporter, Doctor Raoul, Fraxinus, Jimmy Valentine's Brother, Kristinn, PrezUSA222, R.T. Delta, Sensei Ern, tgslTakoma, Tom the Redhunter, Trooprally [Mr & Mrs], VAflagwaver, VictoryNY and myself, Albion Wilde. Lurkers included Bill from MD, Evan & Sheree and several troops from Walter Reed who stopped by.

Dozens of times every Friday at Walter Reed,
lurker Bill from MD shouts out a "thank you"
to all the drivers who beep for the troops.

Great job all.

That flag chase car really gets around. I ran into it on the PA Turnpike last Sunday when they were coming back from Michigan from a baloon fest. They pulled over and we had a nice conversation.

Freepers are great everywhere.

WELCOME TO FREE REPUBLIC!!!!

Great to see you 'finally' on FR.

You seem quieter in print than on the corners of WR. :-))

Maybe you could make some small effort respecting whatever in the hell that you're babbling 'bout a wee bit clearer to us in the trenches?

So just what are you talking 'bout? Are we on the same team? You're nonsense is positively abysmal.

Raygun, I'm not sure which trench you're in or what your confusion is but you may want to go back a page to posting #1 of this thread??? I'm absolutely confident that Albion is aware of and has mourned for each of the folks listed in your picture. As one of the steadfast members of the DC chapter, she's out there fighting our domestic enemies, whether those enemies are outside WRAMC harming the morale of our wounded heroes or whether they're marching with their pink signs on the National Mall.

The soldier at WR shortly after that story broke held their own press conference on the sidewalk outside the hospital defending WR. It didn't fit the media pre-conception, so it got almost zero coverage.

If it were a fair world, Dana Priestr would have lost her job for telling a lie.

About the time that story biz about WR came out, suddenly there was something "wrong" with the troop care over at Ft. Hood and all the local area ratings hungry media did a gleeful pile-on - and it turned out to be a NOTHING story. Zilch, zippo, nada. I wonder if military health care facilities in other areas suffered the same sort of gang-up, almost as if from a coordinated action.

Let me add my congratulations on a job well done for another outstanding FReep and AAR!!! Keep up the great work! I heard that you stood up to Cindy Sheehan and her unmerry mob too! FANTASTIC! You folks are the best!

Our moonbats (Studio City) were wound up about impeachment. Impeach the President, VP Cheney, Condi, Gonzales.... They were touting HR 333, the resolution to impeach the VP that Kucinich introduced. BARF! And numbers on the moonbat side seem to go up each week. More people showing their ignorance.

You will have two NC Freepers for the August 18th Freep at WR. We can’t wait to be there.

The nurse is a real blessing to men at war . They are the ones who hold their hands and help save their lives . I thank her and you for her service .

I don’t think women should be combat soldiers, but nurses are the greatest .

War may not be the Answer, but Peace is not an Option.

You got that right. It would make a good FReep sign.

...we experience the same hypocritical treatment from the snotty J-school reporters. If we have the most people, they “need to get the opinion of the minority.” If we are the minority we are too small to warrent attention. Screw ‘em. We are getting attention from the community and we sleep fine at night. :) Support BUMP from WA

LOL!! You have them figured out! Excellent! Keep FReepin'!

You have a right to you're opinion.

If you would like to receive some light into the trenches, try making a specific comment instead of a universal condemnation. Or try reading some of the many links included with the article.

I challenge anyone who has ever had a serious wound to compare their experience to the average civilian hospital, or even a fine civilian hospital. And don't get me started on the percentage of average consumers receiving a proper diagnosis of any disease more complicated than the common cold....
