Democratic political consultant Mark Mellman has a very good piece up today at The Hill on the baffling and illegitimate opposition among voters to Mitt Romney due to his religion. I liked his closing paragraphs:
In July of 1958, 24 percent of respondents told Gallup they would not vote for a Catholic for president, almost identical to Gallups reading on Mormons today. Two years later, John F. Kennedy became the first Catholic to assume the oath of office. Within eight months, the number refusing to vote for a Catholic was cut almost in half.
[snip]
Mellman also discusses an interesting poll he helped construct, in which the pollsters asked half of their respondents whether they would support a candidate with certain characteristics, and asked the other half about another candidate with the exact same characteristics, with one difference. The first candidate was Baptist, the second candidate was Mormon. The Baptist had a huge advantage over the Mormon candidate, by about 20 points.
[snip]
However, more recent polls have attempted to fix the anonymity problem. A recent Time Magazine poll (read the original report here), for example, got to the heart of the question by asking respondents if they are less likely to vote for Mitt Romney specifically because he is a Mormon. The result is not as bad as some reporting on the poll has suggested. For example, while 30% of Republicans say they are less likely to vote for Romney because of his religion, fully 15% of other Republicans say that characteristic makes them more likely to vote for him. And while many have reported the finding that 23% of Republicans are worried by Romneys Mormonism, the more important (but less-reported) number is that 73% say they hold no such reservations...

Jews are very good at documentation and record keeping. Why don't your read Jewish Scholars as to what went on in the Temple of God. It certainly was NOT eternal sealings, endowments, or baptism for the dead.
You are ascribing motive to me once again. And let me tell you, you are not very accurate at reading my mind!
So are you saying you understand esoteric Doctrine better than these Christian Father's?
So the answer to your question, is I have a very good understanding of Christian Doctrine, but I never claimed to be superior to anyone. Show me one instance of a celestial marriage in conjunction with eraly Christian worship in the Holy Temple of God. Show me Jews, baptizing the dead INSIDE the Temple, and I will retract my words.
Until then you are simply providing spam.
Yep; it won’t be long until ALL this truth is taken down.
And just WHICH side was it that CALLED for it to be moved into the R section?
Not the power milk again!
I don't NEED an apology, but I'll bet the LURKERS would sure like to hear YOUR comments on the fact that the LDS organization has no Scriptural basis for it's Temple rites.
I just want to know this:
Who got to 'determine' the content of the LDS' Temple rites?
Then, by obsevation, there is not much love here; therefore, someone is NOT His disciple.
Did the 'Lord command' the rites that go on it the Temple?
Most say where's the beef, but I ask you to identify the spam?
Let's play Frisbee®! ;^)
Power Milk? Is that anything like Energy Drinks. I sure could use one of them right now. All these very long posts are making me sleepyyyyyyyzzzzzzzzzzz.
There's TONS of stuff that can be 'posted' without ever being the 'same'.
(Who get's the call as to whether it is 'offensive' or not?)
Sounds like a non-essential rabbit hole trip to me.
Poor 4 years for hen teeth?
You left out the Scriptural athiourity for Temple rites....
You left out the Scriptural authority for Temple rites....
It is odd that FR Mormonism Apologists are so fond to make derisive mention of the traditions of the Christian Church following the death of the last Apostle until the coming of Smithism ‘in these latter days’, yet they spam endlessly with the quotes from the same sources they hold in derision when it suits cultish purpose in attacking Christianity they claim Smithism had to restore ‘in these latter days’. Duplicitous in the main. And not subtle enough to pass notice by readers and at least one lurker who freepmails me. Double-mindedness seems a common trait to Mormonism, as with polyandry and polygamy, then no polyandry and polygamy. This revealing study of Mormonism on FR is most damning to the Mittster’s chances at fooling conservatives into voting for him.
What CRITICISM??
It's YOU guys that need to criticize YOUR leaders for failing to put the authority for your sacred Temple rites in your Scriptures!
I discovered this even more appropriate information regarding the early fathers:
There is a scholarly debate which has continued for nearly 2000 years regarding the ‘prosfora’ Paul was involved with at Jerusalem when he and the others were preparing to be sent forth. Perhaps one of the many things Paul held against James the leader of the Church at Jerusalem (not the brother of Jesus) was the hoops he was made to jump through for being sent as a missionary from the Jews to the Gentile world. He certainly ridiculed the overlording when he made snide reference to not having to have Titus circumcised to satisfy Jamess zeal. And there are other subtle references to things Paul objected to over the years James was ensconced as leader in Jerusalem.
One thing to note is the fact that the Church of Jesus Christ contains Jews and Gentiles, but there was a deep division regarding judaizing the believers from among the Gentiles. Also note that Paul understood very deeply and completely the once for all blood atonement of Jesus Christ. The sin offering (not a blood sacrifice BTW) cannotes Pauls subservience to the Jerusalem Church leadership, nothing more. He would not have insulted the Lords Blood by making a demonic blood offering once Jesus is the revealed Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Mormons cant seem to grasp that because satan has them blinded to the true nature of the Atonement.
It is important to note that while Paul tried everywhere he preached on his missions to go first to the Jews then the Gentiles, he was vehemently opposed to judaizing the Gospel of Grace. Mormonism is strongly judaizing in nature, commanding temple worship and temple faith, not Faithing in Jesus Christ and the Gospel of Grace.
Now this is Spam and harassment!
LDS' Temple rites? #'s1084-1085-1085;1038;1015;1013;839;696 etc.
