Doctors try to save Iraqi girl

Doctors at the Lower Silesian Heart Clinic in Wrocław are fighting for the life of a 10-month-old girl from Baghdad. Early this morning, a team made up of Poland's top cardiosurgeons started an operation on the heart of baby Jannat, who was brought there with the help of Polish troops stationed in Iraq. She is the granddaughter of one of the local translators. The baby has a serious heart disorder which is usually treated in the first two weeks after birth but she had little chance of having the operation in her home country.
