Three female mountain gorillas and a male silverback gorilla were found shot dead this week inside a national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a conservation group said Thursday.

How many abortions were performed 'this week'?

Don't see that in any news reports.

On the whole, Africa would be a lot better off if all the humans were replaced by gorillas.

Hard to see why anyone would kill them. But then this is Africa where they kill humans for no reason.

"The bodies were discovered"

Intersting choice of words there. I bet if this were deer on the side of the road, the choice would have been "carcasses".

The killings follow three others this year. Two silverback male gorillas were shot dead in the same area of the park. The skin of one of the dead gorillas was recovered from a latrine in a nearby camp of rebels fighting the government, the IGCP said.

They went through the effort to skin it, then threw the skin in a latrine.

I’d like to say I care, but I don’t. They’re just animals, after all.

There are people who expect great apes to go extinct within a century (excluding humans, which Macroevolutionists consider also be great apes).

If chimpanzees lifespans could be drastically reduced, they could be farmed and they'd be a valuable source of meat. (sort of an aside).

“”Just over 700 mountain gorillas survive in the wild today,..”

How can the be so sure?

On another note, 4/700=0.57% So, 0.57% is a hugh and series hit! I hope nobody moves my cheese!

I don’t get this. I hope these folks rot in Hell.

I really don’t understand killing whales, gorillas, etc. I’m not against killing animals for food, but there is a line not to be crossed...like killing rhinos and elephants for their tusks. Disgusting.

Well, if the conservation people were smart they would be tagging and getting genetic samples from as many of these gorillas as possible.

Is killing a gorilla (a potential human)as bad as killing an unborn baby? Just wondering.
