Nothing says "idealistic" like brutally suppressing freedom and imprisoning courageous advocates of democracy. At least in the view of CBS News, apparently.
At 7:21 a.m. EDT on this morning's "Early Show," CBS's Kelly Cobiella reported from Havana on the occasion of Cuba's national day. Co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez asked Cobiella about the prospects for change.
CBS "EARLY SHOW" CO-ANCHOR MAGGIE RODRIGUEZ: There's no question that Fidel and [his brother] Raul are different types of leaders. I'm sure we'll see it when he speaks later. He doesn't have Fidel's charisma and he seems a little bit more open to change. As he solidifies his power, what kind of changes do you think Cubans can expect to see?View video here.
CBS REPORTER KELLY COBIELLA: Well, [Raul] is very pragmatic, much more pragmatic than idealistic like Fidel.
MSM still fond of Fidel. Ping to Today show list.
Well Cubans have Free Healthcare right until they stand in front of a firing squad for Free Speech.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Fidel has charisma too?
What kind of funky weed are these people smoking
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Their is a lot of truth to this considering all the Cuban doctors who moonlight.
Calling yourself an idealist excuses nothing.
Like they always tell us, we’re just imagining their bias. They are all pimps for communism...
I wonder if Cuban gov’t has a requirement that in order to broadcast from that nation, certain phrases must be used to describe the Castros, like Idealistic, heroic, independent, firebrand, charismatic, etc.
Good catch, Mark. I could barely hear this over those LOUD voices in the background. They nearly ruined Kelly’s moment, heh-heh.
Thanks, SJ. It was some of the worst audio I’ve encountered. Those paid Communist party hacks were loud!
“Castro boasted Cuba has the world’s most educated and healthiest prostitutes.”
Then those female talking heads at CBS will fit right in.
