WASHINGTON Former Sen. Fred Thompson, a Republican presidential candidate in waiting, candidly answered a question at a campaign stop in Texas yesterday regarding his membership in the Council on Foreign Relations, sometimes referred to as a "shadow government" organization of elites with a global agenda.
In an exchange caught on YouTube that later deteriorated into a police encounter, an activist asked Thompson about his membership in the group, linking it with plans for a "North American Union."

“There’s more but these alone should give you chills and should quiet those who think that any reference to the CFR planning a NAU is nothing but conspiracy nut-job talk.”
Come on. A task force report is, to quote the CFR itself:
“Once formed, Task Forces are independent. Task Force chairs, directors, and members.”
http://www.cfr.org/about/what_we_do/task_forces.html
As shown in my previous post (the one with the links), many of the other members virulently disagree with the task force report.
Don’t be afraid of the marketplace of ideas -— conservative thought always rises to the top -— because it is correct.
I left off the rest of the CFR quote:
“Task Force chairs, directors, and members are solely responsible for the content of their reports.”
From what I could tell, Fred looked right at home and got a BIG Texas welcome from the supporters. Loved the cowboy hat. It was impressive.. I found it odd that the female version of Michael Moore did not have any hint of a Texas accent...(BTW - her credibility very questionable when she screamed World Trade Center....inside job....)
I believe there are certain people who are pushing the NAU, and I am totally opposed to it, and have been alerting people to it.
I don’t believe that CFR has any influence over policy. MEMBERS of CFR do, but that is a completely different thing. It is a think tank. Period.
And I still wholeheartedly support Fred.
These 'independent' opinions are being taken by this administration as a road map to SPP. If you doubt this check out the US Chamber of Commerce site where they list the ten US companies (and ten each from Canada and Mexico) who have been chartered with finding a way to make it work corporately.
Or you can keep your head buried in the sand outside Crawford.
>My refusal to support Thompson has nothing to do with my support for or against any other candidate.<

Sounds like a troll to me!
Easy for you to say. I live in a forest, thus no satellite since trees block the signal. No cable because I live beyond their service area. All I got is lowly dial-up that takes about 10 minutes to download 1 second of movie.
Fred handled this very well. I wonder if 911truth is a dem plant. She’s just too damn cute to be a crack pot.
Huge bump!
Go, Hunter, Go!
Nor mine.
Well that would explain how he can be so conservative in so many areas but continue to give the globalist groups a free pass on everything but immigration. (and immigration seemed something he came late to the table on)
I don’t see it happening.
I think trade will be as far as it goes. Will that be good? Depends on how it shakes out, NAFTA has had luses and minuses for many. But it is going to happen, best we can do is hope to control it in our best interstwith in those confines.
The drive for cheap labor is driven by consumer desire for price over quality and politics. Look at retail operations. No guns can stop that, but it doesn’t mean or Sovereignty will go bye bye...
When the whole thing is ruled by a single entity with a constitution in place like the EU, I’d worry. But that won’t happen, we as a group don’t have a European mind set, just a capitalist one. Thats why we came here. Oh there will be rattles and grumbles, but that will be it. To go past that would take an amendment, and we can see where that would go with the 19 states expressing displeasure with the whole idea.
Do we really even know who all the members of the CFR are?
So, in other words, any of us who refuse to capitulate to you Hunter supporters and your willingness to use ANYTHING no matter how weak and stupid it is, to tear down other conservative candidates, are fascists?
Is that the idea?
Anyone who lends credence to a woman that was screaming that 9/11 was an inside job is nothing more than a useful idiot for the extreme left.
Frankly, the number of you that seem to be doing that around here at a conservative website is what’s scary, not some manufactured charge of ‘fascism’.
As would I. That's all it would take for me to cut him loose.
Thanks for the link. Bookmarked.
This whole CFR load of horse manure is nothing more than a strawman argument for a bunch of tin foil hat kooks to use to promote vanity candidates.
