> You and I need to be aware of attempts to encroach on our right to speak out against moral evils. We must also understand that this is ultimately a spiritual battle.

I just wish everyone would just shut up and mind their own knitting. I have no desire to speak out against gays, and I will resist any attempt for gays to speak out against straight folk like me.

As a Christian, I know that deliberately homosexuals are unrepentent sinners and therefore dam’ned unless they can score some of God’s good grace. For me, that is sufficient. God is the Judge, leave judgment to Him. This does not excuse me from using good manners and cordiality and proper Christian behavior towards gays and all other sinners. Indeed, Christ came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

So as a follower of Christ, it is not up to me to do anything other than facilitate Christ’s agenda. Facilitate, not force. To be welcoming, but not obnoxious ever.

I have more than enough faults of my own to address and correct, to worry about what the “gay agenda” is up to. I’ll worry about that when they are in my family’s bedrooms and demanding conjugal rights at gunpoint.

God is in control.

If we resist them now that day will never come. If we close our eyes and ignore their ongoing crimes that day will be inevitable.

God is in control.

He has given us free will. If His people will tolerate perversion running rampant in this country then why would He bother himself to fix it? He is in control but we should be His hands and feet. Letting these sodomites continue to corrupt our country is only allowing them to drag more people into hell with them, with our approval. Do you really want to be seen as approving (through your silence) the sodomites dragging children into depravity and hell?

Most people would live and let live. But as we can see from this very thread, radical homosexual activists will do anything to silence the opposition. I believe for you to resist any attempt for gays to speak out against straight folk you'll have to speak out against gays.

The reasons people are involved in this debate vary from person to person. Many of us want to protect the innocence and the minds of children and I think that's a worthy goal.

DieHard,

I had the same live-and-let-live, it’s-none-of-my-business attitude. As a matter of fact, I was in favor of Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell. But, now it’s being taught as acceptable to children in the public schools. Younger and younger children. Kindergartners now. If you object, you’re labeled a bigot. It’s bringing down the churches as, one by one, they begin to accept it, too. It’s time to fight this movement.

I agree completely. Two of my daughter’s good friends (both of whom have been married and one of whom has two children) have recently moved in together. I continue to love and pray for them, but still believe that their lifestyle is a sin. I think the point of this article is that the gay and lesbian organization is allowed to force their beliefs into the marketplace of ideas, but a Christian organization is not even allowed to post a flier or use words that might offend those who practice that lifestyle. That is certainly not fair and not in keeping with the First Amendment.
