Cozy with La Raza

If a GOP candidate sought votes from a white group calling itself the "National Council of the Race," he'd rightly be shunned as a racist. But let the Democrats do the same and they're called "progressive." Hillary and Obama appeared before the National Council of La Raza ("The Race"), a radical Latino group. Obama pandered by saying he'd "walked the walk" for amnesty and would revive the sunken immigration bill that went down in flames in the Senate. "We will make this a priority and get it done," he said. Hillary buys into the idea that the bill's end was brought on by what La Raza calls a "wave of hate" and hired a top La Raza official, Raul Yzaguirre, as her financial co-chair. La Raza is not only the loudest proponent of illegal immigration in the U.S. It fosters ethnic separatism in schools. It runs Hugo Chavez-type handouts for indigents and refuses to renounce fringe groups like MEChA, whose own slogan is derived from from the rhetoric of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro: "Through the race, everything; outside the race, nothing." Today's La Raza is a $52 million not-for-profit group that that lives off congressional earmarks and shakes down big corporations like Wal Mart and Bank of America for financial support while at the same time making illegal immigration and ethnic separatism its leading agenda.

Of the candidates who attended the convention, Obama stood out as the most willing race-baiter, his Chicago activist experience coming in handy. He denounced immigration bill foes as "both ugly and racial in a way we havn't seen since the struggle for civil rights." It's pure charlatan logic. The illegal immigration issue is about whether 12-20 million foreign invaders who've broken our laws will be rewarded.

"Hillary hires LaRaza guy......."

Be afraid.....be very afraid.

And some conservatives here are all bent into pretzels because Cheney's aide, Mary Matalin, will serve as an unpaid advisor in the Thompson campaign.

Of course you would, thereby removing your own credibility...assuming you had any to begin with.

Then you can explain why NumbersUSA has false or misleading information on almost every candidate’s voting record, in some cases only showing procedural votes, in other cases, actually saying someone supported a bill they voted ‘Nay’ on, and in most cases, linking votes on LEGAL immigration and labeling those as votes on illegal immigration..

This all has been hashed out over and over here in many forums.. Almost no candidate has been immune from their misrepresentation..

They’ve done a lot of harm to the anti-illegal/amnesty movement by linking it with legal immigration issues.. Those who are fighting for a real end to illegal immigration and amnesty are labeled xenophobes because of groups like this..

What do you think about Fred's Campaign manager being a recipient of La Raza's honors?

Hi, Auntie B.....I'll think about it more when I hear what Fred has to say about it. At the moment, I don't like it a bit.

However, Mary Matalin can't be compared with LaRaza intrigue in any way.

OK, it was momentary. No matter what, those for the ruin of the country will be labelled xenophobes - by liberals, by RINOs, by anyone in the open border crowd. And you know what, as many people as we've had to support illegally for the last few years, I think we do need to stop and take inventory.

People have been brainwashed by this mantra that we need to continue the most liberal immigration policy in the world. What has Kennedy's evil plans to turn us into a third world country accomplished? In 2007, we are taking in at least one million legal immigrants and one million illegal. The roads, hospitals, airplanes, parks, and schools are overcrowded and our infrastructure is in decay. My personal life is no better for being crammed in like cattle, and I don't know anyone who enjoys that.

Roy Beck rocks! He and his staff are so well-spoken and well-written. It’s a non-partisan group, and I have sent every penny I USED to send to the RNC/GOP to Numbers USA. I know they use the money wisely and FOR the sovereignty of the United States v. trying to dismantle it.

This is exactly why todays Democrats do not need to be in any government power, they have been poisoned by the extreme left. All I have to say is all you here on Freerepublic need to go to Mexico and demand free insurance, drivers license, right to vote and to be citizens just because.

"Then you can explain why NumbersUSA has false or misleading information on almost every candidate’s voting record..."

I have no intention of trying to explain a statement so obviously untrue. But you can feel free to offer all of us here your specific cases demonstrating the truth of your assertions. And before you huff and puff your way into exhaustion trying to find something that will hold up (doubtful), try to keep in mind that "Yes" votes are frquently turned into "No" votes when certain political crapweasels see which way the wind is blowing and rapidly switch their votes (I understand a number of Senators did this on the recent S.1639 Amnesty/Citizenship bill which, thanks in substantial part to NUSA and its members, crashed & burned).

"...and in most cases, linking votes on LEGAL immigration and labeling those as votes on illegal immigration."

Cite specific provable examples of such cases. Put up or shut up.

"Almost no candidate has been immune from their misrepresentation."

We'll be waiting for your proof.

"They’ve done a lot of harm to the anti-illegal/amnesty movement by linking it with legal immigration issues."

Only in your fevered mind. Some people believe these issues are linked in certain respects. For example, many of us feel there should be a moratorium on legal immigration until such time as illegal immigration has been stopped. Because you disagree means nothing.

"Those who are fighting for a real end to illegal immigration and amnesty are labeled xenophobes because of groups like this."

Only by the FROBL/pro-illegal alien crowd and other assorted nitwits who don't know what they're talking about.

“Hillary hires LaRaza guy.......”

She wants the Latino votes. Let’s be honest, these politicians don’t care what they do to get power. They’re not looking out for our interests, they’re looking out for their own. This state of affairs should be obvious after the “immigration reform” fiasco, where both parties were courting illegals at the expense of the rest of the country. Be extremely careful who you vote for.

The Federal government stopped representing “white” people a long time ago.
