Hunter: 'Postage stamp' Israel should not give up 'one inch' of territory

WASHINGTON — A contender for the Republican presidential nomination has ruled out an Israeli withdrawal as part of any peace accord with the Arabs. Rep. Duncan Hunter, one of 10 Republicans vying for their party's 2008 presidential nomination, said Israel must not withdraw from "one inch" of territory as part of an Arab peace accord. Hunter, the former chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, termed Israel a "postage stamp of a country" that could not afford to cede territory.

On May 20, Hunter, a California Republican, voiced his position during a meeting with Christian Zionists in Alexandria, Va. He recalled his visit to the Golan Heights, the scene of intense armored battles with Syria during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, Middle East Newsline reported.

During his trip, Hunter and his father were taken to a narrow valley in which a handful of Israeli main battle tanks blocked more than 1,400 Soviet-built Syrian MBTs during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. The House member recalled that at that point he vowed to support Israel's territorial claims.

Tearing down FredT, will not help Hunter. Period.

Pissant didn't say a word about FREDT on this thread. You ought to practice what you preach.

Actually, you’ll see by the post I quoted I lumped Ron Paul with the dems.. from his hypocrisy on Pork, to his conspiratorial statements, to his complete misunderstanding of things like the Gold Standard and basic economic policy, I am more concerned Paul is the type to turn the nukes on his own country than be wrong in his own warped view of the constitution.. Anyone who would put the country at risk of his semantic argument over the word ‘force’ versus ‘war’ doesn’t deserve his finger on the football and, in my opinion, is more dangerous than the dems who mostly only care about their own image..

Unfortunately, Hunter has voted like a Bush Big-Budget-Bot, a No-Dollar-Left-Behind CongressCrat. We’ll see how he votes on the 2007 Farm Bill in comparison to his “Yes” on the record-breaking 2002 one.

He has voted consistently as a social conservative, but his love of spending other peoples’ money diminishes his appeal to me.

Yeah, so what. My post wasn't to you. I don't run around FR tearing down conservatives. And saying that Hunter's campaign is going nowhere, is not tearing down a conservative.

Not as badly as people make out.. anyone in congress for that long is going to have a spending record that can be questioned.. Hunter is a good conservative, he has one flaw- marketing.. but that can be overcome with experience; specifically working as VP for, say, about 8 years under someone that can show him how to control the media...

>>>>>You're cranky tonight.

Not at all. Just tired of one specific Hunter supporter trashing FredT to make his guy look better.

>>>>People have pretty much reacted to that.....and your name calling.

OMG More whining. Other then reacting to a few personal insults, I haven't called any body names. Again, Hunter's supporters are overacting and allowing their emotions to get the best of them.

Bottom line. If Hunter can right his stalled campaign, that would be a big plus. Otherwise, he's going nowhere.

“End the Unjust Jewish Occupation of Muslim Land!”

Are you advocating this position? Are you looking at a map of territory that has been overtaken by Islam since the 7th century AD and using that to determine that Israel’s occupation of their little slice from 2,000 BC means nothing?

By the way, the portion of all of that land that was specifically promised to Abraham by Jehovah includes much more. It goes from the Nile Delta, eastward all the way to the Persian Gulf; From the Nile Delta northeast to the Mountains of Ararat (Turkey/Russia now); and from Ararat southwest to the Persian Gulf. What was promised originally to Abraham includes current day Iraq.

Israel will get all of that one day, from whence they will be the chief nation on Earth, ruling the Gentile nations from Jerusalem.

God is keeping the records, and He is not concerned about any bounderies determined by the UNO.

John,
I apologize if you misunderstood this.. it is a protest warrior sign, the point is to illustrate the irony or absurdity of the left’s statement... in this case, the absurdity of Israel ‘occupying Muslim land’..

If you don’t have background, the protest warriors sneak into the leftist protest with signs like this and get in front of the cameras to show how absurd the left is..

The Paulites on this thread can only try to trash as they have nothing but a wing nut going for them.

I went face to face with some Paulites Sat. with their
9/11? buttons saying the planes that went into the WTC were by remote control.

The Paulites on this forum need to start their own.
their trashing and wishful thinking doesn’t belong
with normal conservative Republicans.

I and another person on this thread have been involved with many Protest Warrior counter rallys.

The founders of PW have a great book out

It is great.. I bought it on day 1 of it’s availability.. the only problem I encounter is the previous post when people don’t understand the irony..

I’ve only done a few pro-Halliburton events.. I was actually at the RNC 04 and visited a bunch of PWs but I didn’t feel it was right to take part as I was the guest of a delegate and didn’t want to risk causing problems...

Back to original borders. You take that issue away from the Muslims and they have nothing to complain or bomb people about. If they do, you crush them like the maggots they are.

Hey, we have been in the trenches against the Left Wing wackOs with the Protest Warriors.

You know these Paulites wouldn’t be out supporting our country as they are against fighting the terrorists.
They don’t even believe the terrorists were involved
in 9/11

With the largest concentration of Military in the world here in San Diego, the Left like to blow their bile and look like the fools they are.
